    Sometime over the next couple of weeks I'll turn email verification back on

    That means only accounts that have a verified email can post. It's protection against spam bots and shits that like having duplicate accounts

    Having a valid email means we can contact you if the site goes down again

    If you are already actively posting and don't have an email address you don't have to do anything. I'll verify you

    It's about making it harder for spam bots etc to create new accounts

    I am having a problem changing my existing/old email address to a new current one. The confirmation email with link is not arriving at my Outlook email (or spam folder). Is there something else I should be doing? Thanks.

    Sorry just saw this.

    No changes at this end. Not sure what could be causing that issue.. maybe the browser is caching something?

    We do allow people to login with username or email. Maybe the saved password on that browser is for the email not the username?

    @Duluth I've had a similar issue on Chrome Mobile and it definitely wasn't an incorrect password issue. It was throwing up an expired session error, so I figured it was cache related. No amount of clearing browser data sorted it, though.

    Found it

    It's an issue related to the url change. Something is misconfigured

    On the login screen make sure the url is https://forum.silverfern.rugby/login
    Sometimes it's sending users to https://www.forum.silverfern.rugby/login

    Remove the 'www.' and it should let you in

    Wouldn't let me in initially, but cleared cache and it did. Posting here because I could see only this thread and might help someone else.
