@taniwharugby and based on the analysis by Jane, I don't believe him

Maybe they did train on those things but the skills coach is not up to standard eg training with the wrong techniques.

They definitely worked on it but I suspect that the skills coach may be missing a bit about what Dagg and CJ were also talking about - replicating game like situations and the chaos that comes in those games.

Honestly reading that from Jane is just so absolutely damning of this current coaching group. We KNEW they were going to bombard us, and not only did we not select for it, the guys on the park had shit technique! So nobody had even worked with them on the best way to handle that!

And then Razor just waves that away with vague references about it being in SAs DNA? Despite the ABs being world leaders in this regard in recent history?

Fuck me, move these clowns on ASAP, absolute embarrassment to AB rugby.

I’ve spoken to a few players who have been coached by Jane in the ABs XV and they all said how good he was and his technical knowledge was way ahead of anything they heard at NPC and super level

Who is the AB skills coach now? Hansen, Holland and Ellison don't inspire confidence.

There isn't a specific skills coach I believe, and hasn't been since Mick Byrne.

Just a bunch of guys who seemingly do similar things sort of, without clear defined roles. Typical middle management strategy

It does appear from the outside looking in razor has made a similar mistake to fozzy , surrounded himself with a bunch of assistants who are super rugby level and who don’t really cut it at international level .

It’s starting to feel very dejavu

not quite. when foster got job there was a fight for assistant plus the timing meant some grabbed jobs elsewhere because there was no guarantee that foster was going to get job.
robertson got a free swing , appointed well in advance and could have anyone who he wanted (assuming they wanted to work with him)

@ploughboy i thought others went elsewhere because the appointment of Foster seemed inevitable.

Apologies if it’s been posted already but this did not make for good reading. Two worst ever this year. We need a new defensive coach.

It's all good according to Tamati. Nothing to worry about.

The All Blacks have claimed yet more unwanted history with their 43-10 defeat to the Springboks, but don't slot the record books back onto the shelf just yet, because more looks to be on the way.

Which was my point. David Hill was used as a kicking specialist under Hansen and Foster. Now they must be relying on one of the assistants I mentioned as a backs skills coach.

@akan004 why can’t any of the current coaches grow a spine and just say it isn’t fucken good enough. The language they use is better in a poetry class than a rugby field. They can fuck off with their moments and learnings.

Saw a clip of one of Kolbe's try, the one that came off Siya's huge bust.

This came form set-peice where again, we got monstered, but what was tellign was how slow our loosies all were in reacting and getting.

Parker & Sititi would have been turned toward the short blind so can expect them to be slower to get back into defence, but Ardie looked knackered and moving so slowly, he was a good 15-20m away from Siya when he was finally tackled.

@taniwharugby when you getting monstered at set piece like we were, the loosie are generally slow coming off side of scrum, because they are trying to hold scrum. Tends to take a few seconds to react when you concentrating on trying to use your energy to hold your weight.

@Dan54 well duh, as I said, Parker/Sititi were turned well away, but seeing how slow Ardie responded and was then moving across, was most unlike him.

So Caleb Tangitau got dropped from the Auckland 23 because Razor had a wee cry that Clarke and Ioane weren’t in it? Or is he injured again? Poor guy.

How the fuck would that work Caleb Tangitau could have played on the right wing Reiko at centre doesn't effect if he plays or not., and Clarke always plays left wing Tangitau always a right wing.Dumb post you are shooting from the hip with no knowledge.

The original Auckland side was a copy and paste from last weekend. They had injuries and released the real side today. The ABs are not the only changes
