Excellent last 10 minutes by the Ferns

Oi you fuck off, you called game over 30 minutes ago.

It was over. Just glad BFs showed some fight unlike the ABs second half in Welly.

@kidcalder BFs need to play England, Canada and France more often.

Playing Spain and Japan even Ireland was not a good lead in to playing a team of Canada's quality

I mean yeah but it's daylight between the teams in the women's game, especially outside the top 4.

Worst refereeing I've seen since Wales v Fiji at the last RWC. Truly shocking.

Outstanding commitment for Canada. Hugely competitive and determined all over the park.

The BFs had some good moments with the ball in hand, but their defence was too passive and porous.

Yeah the girls need a Nov tour.
Playing Oz 3 times a year doesn't cut the mustard

I will celebrate like NZ won if Canada win the final, I'd even pay for a framed photo of the commentary team at the game.

Watched bits of it , ref aside , Canada just seemed better drilled in the fundamentals,

Our girls have lots of talent but just seem a bit reliant on the miracle plays that work well on the lower tier sides

Maybe Canada did us a favour, I suspect England would get a bit uglier., strangling us out of the game even more so

Pretty average, but at least they didn't give up like our men's team.

Well played BFs. Refused to lie down.

Didn’t think much could top the Boks in Wellington - unimaginative dolt.

take a bow Kevin Rouet, Tessier, Symonds, De Groote and co. Magnificent, smart, creative, ruthless rugby. 90 minutes from glory.

Interesting that Canada have only one squad for 15s and 7s whereas NZ had to try to integrate their 7s stars into the 15s programme - Canada looked so well drilled. Canadian 9 bossed around the rucks and De Goede is freakishly talented for a lock. Black Ferns seemed to buy every dummy in the 1st half instead of just making the tackle.

    Olsen-Baker 34 carries apparently - good engine.

Canada’s forward attack was pretty good and we didn’t have anyone that could create a turnover when required.

    The slow start hurt us.

Has there ever been a big game when only one side has won penalties?

1/4 final 2007 RWC comes to mind

I haven't, read all of the thread but I figured someone would say this because it was exactly what I was thinking. The most one-sided display of refereeing I have seen since Barnes.

With the laws of rugby as they are, I defy any official (with both eyes open) to watch 60 minutes of a match and not see an infringement. The last time I can recall seeing it was....2007.

Given that we couldn't catch for the first 40, we would have had trouble anyway, but the whole dynamic of the contest changes when only one side is being watched. Rugby (RWC in particular) seems to be completely political. It's bloody sad, rugby used to be my passion.

Outmuscled and outplayed. Some terrible refereeing at times but the better team deservedly won. The BF game drivers failed to fire in the face of Canadian defensive pressure.
