New mortal enemy. Absolutely detest both those loud braying pricks.

That said - I've heard good things about that show. I might consider giving it a shot after I've hunted you down and cut you a bit.

    Er ok?

    Relax - I still haven't cut @Kiwiwomble. It's an empty threat.
    Probably....

ive been losing sleep for no reason?!?

tangent, binged "Day of thew jackal" on the plane too and form the states this week....pretty awesome, wasn't sure if it was going to be a multi season thing, hope they dont flog a dead horse but definitely keen for another season

edit: i had two questions 1) where is his spotter mate? that might get explained 2) how did the women who hired him find him in the Tallin Hotel.....hes supposed to be the impossible to find person who is only contacted on the dark web...but when she wanted too she just turned up in his hotel room?

Chief of War finale - what the actual fuck. It just became a Game of Thrones/LOTR mash up.

Disappointing end to a watchable series.

It had multiple flaws and total lack of logic bordering on absolute bullshit at times but it was still a good series overall.

How he never got caught is ridiculous not to mention sending TWO agents to HIS house to apprehend him ( ie his own backyard )

The finale is based on a collection of events and pieced together as fiction. The actual historical accounts of the characters are a bit different.

spoiler Keoua really did lose two thirds of his army to a volcanic eruption/lava while in retreat but he himself was not killed on the lava field. Kamehameha killed him at a later time

    Finished Black Rabbit.

Pretty well wrapped up, no room for sequels of any sort really.......

Interesting dynamic of how much you put yourself out for family before breaking point.

As I mentioned Jude Law and Jason Bateman were excellent. Rest of the cast did their job too.

    Finished S2 of Dark Winds.

Tidied up reasonably well, rather than the rushed final 5 mins, pretty much the whole last ep tied loose ends, and looks like it could genuinely end there too.

Just started Wayward.....definitely quite compelling so far.

Not sure why the lead cop is transexual, certainly not a common thing in 2003 ( fuck I feel old ) you kinda forget after awhile though. They/them/she/he/it is a good enough actor.

We've chopped through Dark Winds, Black Rabbit and now this in pretty quick succession. Was chatting with the girl, when was the last truly outstanding series that went on for ages and was brilliant. You know sort of Breaking Bad/Game of Thrones type good ?

I honestly can't think of one.

    Had a quick sqizz.

Are they really THAT good ?

Gary Oldman should be renamed Gary Fatman.

    By that criteria....
Bosch - good, but not brilliant. (IMO)
Mayor of Kingstown - guilty pleasure, not brilliant; and only 3 seasons - not exactly "ages"
Slow Horses - brilliant, but - not exactly been running for "ages". (Edit: just looked it up - already on S05? That matches Breaking Bad... so yeah - 👍 )
    Other contenders:
    Fargo
    Ozark - 4 seasons?

First couple of seasons of Fargo were outstanding. The last one not so much.

Ozark lost it a bit at the end too.

Mr Robot is only 4 seasons so maybe not ages. Last two seasons are pretty amazing.

    The Expanse.

Just finished The Newsreader on BBC iPlayer. 6 Ep focussing on the fictional workings of an Aussie news channel in the 1980s as it covers actual events like Azaria Chamberlain, Chernobyl, the AIDS crisis etc

Nostalgic and v enjoyable. Great music and shot really well. Recommended.

I went to work in Oz about a month after the first series starts. Captured the vibe superbly.

Third series just out is an excellent finale.

    Monster: the Ed Gein story

Great performance from that guy from Sons of Anarchy in the lead role but pretty shite so far. Just boring and creepy ( like the man himself ) I’m sure one scene of him beating off while wearing his mums underwear was enough, we’ve had two so far and I’m not even finished episode two.

    Might bail on this one
