I've lived mainly within the wider Waikato region. I was born in Thames and lived on the 25A road at Hikuai until the family moved to Onewhero. I consider Onewhero my home district. I came down to Hamilton for love about 22 years ago, that didn't work out but I have been here since then apart from a year closer to home and down in Gisborne when my son was born. Once my son has confirmed his University plans I might move away.

Counties is my team at Provincial level. I'm a Chiefs supporter but if I hadn't moved to Hamilton that might have been different.

That's cool Mike. We enjoyed an afternoon in Thames a few months back having driven down from Coromandel along the firth of Thames. Its a nice little town. NZ really is a magical country, can't wait to return.

That makes two of us on here! Not a lot of success results wise on the field for too long now but "there is always next year". At least we have to consolation of a few craft beers on tap in the Isherwood Lounge so you can still buy a standard jug or a large jug to consume whilst fulfilling the aftermatch requirements of NZs most continuously playing rugby club. Incidentally the next NZRFU President is an Axeman Life Member (Erin Rush)

Ooh Wainoni, good east side man 😉 spent many of my 11 years in Chch running through Pages Rd.

People in Chch would laugh at me for saying this, but it's a beautiful partof the world!

Haven't been back for decades but remember the club rooms fondly.
I was there at the same time as Murray Pierce & Murray Mexted. Got to play for higher teams because those 2 were away on AB duty, Even made the Wellington Lions bench twice, Alias those were the days the bench was only used when there were legit injuries, their weren't. Even worse the program has a different bloke for one of the games (I was a late call up and probably the only one they could contact on such short notice) and totally misspelt by name for the other. Had a similar problem when I made the age grade reps while playing for Stokes Valley.

@Mainlander Next time I am down there I will have a word to Peter Jack. He has a mountain of documents relating to the Club so is bound to have the programmes you mention. He usually brings something different every week that is always very interesting to. read

    I wouldn't laugh.
I used to get my hair cut at the shopping centre of Pages and Breezes Rd.
Went to Wainoni Primary and lived on Avonside Drive just 1 house away from the corner of Pembroke st.
All gone now, School and House, visited about a year ago, made me sad, but the Avon was very beautiful and I got some nice pics.

    @Mainlander I know it well.

Spent three years living in Breezes Road when I was at university, pretty much on the corner right opposite the sewerage pond. The wind was almost always easterly, so not a problem. 🙂

Used to have some decent running circuits - out to Burwood Park, New Brighton, Dallington and Linwood. Even southeast through the water treatment areas.

Would often run down Dyers rd too, the smell heading into New Brighton going past the roundabout on Breezes/Dyers/Anzac Drive was something else haha.

Everything I hear Breezes Rd I just picture the Mobil on it lol. I lived on Oram Ave for a bit before settling at Seaview Rd for 10 years, still have the property on Seaview, just down the rd from where you lived.

@African-Monkey The Mobil on the corner of Pages Road? I think it was a Mobil even when I was there.

I lived pretty much opposite where Cuthberts Road meets Breezes. We honestly almost never smelled the ponds!

That's the one, still going strong. Yup, know exactly where you're talking about too.
