Solid win in the end. Aussie didn’t live up to the hype second half though.
Reiko Ioane was very solid defensively coming on at centre. Aussie backline never looked threatening out wide once he came on.

Well finished but that scoreline flatters you
Considering we left 9 points on the field with horrible kicking, not really.
20 mins against 14 men and they butchered 10 pts
Congratulations on the moral victory.
Pick your dummy up
Deserved win but scoreline flattered you
Personally don't think it did. Pretty fair reflection overall.
We were well and truly flattered at the break. Shouldn't have been that far in front. But at the end a margin of 2 x converted tries felt about right.

Looked sharpish with the ball too.

Random thought: was impressed with the handling in the second half.
Was hoping we would just bang it into the corners, but holding possession in that weather was impressive.
Did we back off playing on the advantage line a bit because of the rain, thus not putting ourselves under pressure?
(Hear's me talking about us and we
.)

I would beg to disagree - DMac is a very, very average intl 10 who is easily shut down. BB (field kicking aside) is a better option still, though it pains me to say it.
I don't know why our MF looked better than it has all season. But I'd like to see if DMac was part of the answer to that question
Not having a go at Proctor but QT asked questions of the Wallabies.
The five eighths passed to him more in first 20 than they did to Proctor in whole 80!
From my armchair view it just appears that QT runs a better angle, from deeper and with a bit of pace.
QT makes you earn your crust tackling him.
Yeah, he runs good hard direct lines, which helps when the ball gets static. His game looks suited for international rugby.

Yeah, I would say the scoreline was about right in terms of reflection. Watching it live, it felt like we were in control of the game in the 2nd half without it being a vintage display. Solid enough compared to some of the crap that has been dished up this year.

Tosi is a must selection on the bench. He constantly made the hard yards. For me, Lomax starts or is not on the team sheet. Having ST, Bower, Tosi, PT and Sititi, all powerful carriers, was the main reason why the All Blacks were dominant during the last quarter. At this level, rugby is a big men game.
Is Lomax just not match fit or has he fallen away? It's hard seeing him surpass Newell now!

Seems that way, for now at least.
I too, prefer Tosi off the bench with either Newell or Lomax starting. Right now, Newell starts.

Lets stick with Roigard/DMac combo for the EOYT.
QT captain.
Roigard to select the team and run the coaching

Good day at office.
One real gripe.
Why, why, oh why change out starting front row exactly at the point where we have to defend a 5m lineout and maul?
Ridiculous to ask bench fatties to trot on and immediately have to get everything right.
Did that against Boks in Wellington and was a game changer.
End of rant.

A conversion miss is definitely more likely to be "points left out there" because it doesn't alter what happens next.
Even then, it can alter mindset. A 4 point lead Vs a 2 point lead can completely change how you feel, how the opposition feel and what you think your options are (unless you're Beauden Barrett, then you've only got 2 options regardless of the situation).

The substitutions (other than obviously for injured) are likely all predetermined. It wouldn’t matter how well or poorly someone was playing or what the game situation is - they’ve decided to substitute a player after 55 minutes so that’s what’s going to happen.

I’m starting to think that no matter what player puts on the jersey right now, we aren’t going to see their best because the coaching is just so god damn poor.
Absolute master stroke picking Tupaea at 13 though.
Did he play 13 the night he was Swained?
Wore 23, replaced David Havili at 2nd 5/8.
