Joe Schmidt for instance, with anyone
Rennie and Joseph
etc

Vern has always been great with forwards not only got the best out of those Blues, but when you can earth the likes of Wayne Ormond clearly he can make average forwards above average

I highly doubt they would have given him an out in the middle of an RWC cycle. He leaves with intimate knowledge of the Boks and their game plan.
