    All silliness aside Good team......

two Australians seems like an awful lot though !

I'd go Jack Dempsey at 8 but then that would make two Australians Scotsmen which is probably too many !

i think there have been a few Aussies that have stood out this year as being outstanding, but they're let down by a lot of the team being either substandard or below expectation.

Russell probably the other Scot unlucky to miss out, he had a very good season. Lock was my hardest pick, Holland had a good year, but I wouldn't class him as top two. Snyman seemed to dominate when he played so I picked him alongside the obvious Itoje.

Lucky to get that many. Only other real candidates are Taylor and Holland. No one else.

Big fan of his work, even more than @MiketheSnow is. If he'd done the unthinkable and led the Scots to wins over the ABs and the Argies he woulda walked in.

But I think we're seeing the next Dan Carter in that young SA fella whose name I'm not going to try and spell.

Taylor would be my only one, for me he's deserving as while both are excellent around the field and in scrum, he is a better thrower than Marx and that's the key role.
Roigard is hugely important for us, but he's not better than JGP.
Holland has been great, but Itoje, Skelton, Snyman, Etsebeth...

There is not a single AB i will be voting for as the best in their position this year.

Our two best in Taylor and Roigard are shaded by others i think, and Jordan played too much fullback to get in as a winger.

In the spirit of the topic and TSF's motto, some of my suggestions may be shit posting. The challenge is to guess which is which.

Confirming rule 2 that the TSF ToTY selection committee (i.e., me) is the sole creator, judge, arbiter and grand poobah of all rules, laws and regulations.

Thus pisstake nominations may be included in the voting just, well, because.

My boy Will makes the TOTY for the fifth consecutive year! Only player to have done that.

Malcolm Marx in there at 4.

Goldie and Mils picked Will in their TOTY as well - as did Planet Rugby.

    Nice! πŸ™‚

Reminds me of the second BB player of the year award in 2017 that had little do with on field play and more to do with reputation.

He makes my Passes to Nowhere team of the year so you can bank that one too. πŸ˜‰

Sounds a lot like Mitch's Journey to Nowhere - Will should be well placed when Mitch takes over! πŸ™‚

He has too much flair with the ball in hand (TBF I guess not knowing where the ball is going to go when leaving his hands could be considered flair to).

Anyway, you know the first thing he is going to do to the spiritual successor of Cullen is to drop him while injured and say that he would have been dropped on form anyway.
