Scary if they are looking to push Razor and his merry men out the door

There is no way this can play out that will be good for the All Blacks or NZ Rugby as a whole.

I doubt the report will be fully released publicly. It is likely a summary will be highly sanitised. I'd also doubt whether NZR's inhouse comms team will be managing it. Potentially pawned off to an agency specialising in crisis comms.

Sacking the coach/coaches will have a major impact. Six months out from our biggest tour. Puts the playing group back to square one.

Keeping the current coaches is likely untenable. They is just so much shit connected to them now.

The high profile players named are now tarnished and are now in certain camps.

Dropping a coach in without a formal recruitment process has the potential to be a Razor V2 situation. On the flipside there just is not the time to spend months scouring the globe for the best fit.

All attention towards players will be around this, any media opps in the lead up to Super will be asking about what their experience was with the ABs.

There are no upsides to what is about to occur, status quo or major overhaul.

Latest rumors are that the NZR have approached a former AB coach to return and work as a mentor with Razor or option 2 take over completely.
Didn't name which coach that is .

It also seriosuly impacts the global brand. If Gallagher decide to pull out in 12-24months (no idea how long the deal is) who’s going to be putting their names on a toxic brand that is quickly being overtaken by its northern hemisphere counter parts

That really is the issue isn't it?

NZR seem to have burned so many bridges over the last few years that a new coaching set-up is likely to mean a fair amount of Test inexperience in the mix. I think getting someone who can work with the players is really key - whether old school or empathetic doesn't matter.

Yeah 100%. Just missed that out as I was posting. Instability scares the shit out of backers.

@Victor-Meldrew sadly NZR have stumbled and bumbled thier way to this moment since Tew left, Robinson hasnt exactly left the place in a better position than when he arrived.

    Best case:

    • Scott x2 gets the boot, along with Ellison.
    • Ardie gets the boot, he’s not bigger than the ABs and he’s made his intentions clear.
    • New captain - preference is Codie Taylor
    • Jamie Joseph takes over as head coach and he somehow entices his mate T Brown to come home.

Genuine question Canes. What intentions had Ardie made clear? I not talking about speculation on here or in Herald.
Just one thing I would like answered amongst all the others, like Codie is another supposedly pulling pin if Razor stays etc,

NZRU needs to be ruthless. We have about $200m in cash reserves... Dip into it, clean house, and get the best coaching staff available (including Tony Brown if you have to pay SA).

If it's true Ardie had signed with R360 - then he can fuck off too. I'm guessing Ardie was meeting with R360 backers when that photo went viral of him drunk in Dubai with Henry Pollock, Blair Kinghorn, Sititi, etc was doing the rounds.

I had a look on Ardie’s Instagram incase he’d posted the news himself. He’s deliberately enabled tags of him on posts around playing for overseas clubs and players being unhappy about not being able to play overseas.

He’s performative and ofc he will have made his intentions clear

Thought he already had that gig? Mentor etc? All Black coach needs a mentor? I was surprised when Smith was made perfomance coach as it was. these things are all bullshit, just get your coach to coach ffs!!!

Not going to happen, but we could do with his man-management skills....
