Razor should have been gone after Wellington. I've seen plenty of All Blacks losses, but All Blacks sides quitting mid match can be counted on one hand.

It's certainly going to be a huge blow to Robertson's reputation and ego. He has only known success, albeit restricted to Canterbury/Crusaders. You can understand why he won't be going without a fight.

And another thing on Razor, is he's never been in a situation like this ever in his career, which was one of the concerns I had with him taking the job in the first place. He's only ever known success in the Canterbury region.

I don't know where he ends up, but he'll probably learn more from this experience alone than he ever did in the 10+ years of coaching in Chch before taking this gig.

He should have gone through these learnings before taking the ABs gig, he would have been far better for it in my view.

If he learns from this, then he may still end up being a very successful coach wherever he ends up.

    Always liked Jamie Wall:

He confirmed that Razor would be the first AB HC to be fired. Also the information regarding Fozzie's near firing backs up the idea the players had faith enough in him to support him

Okay, second update. I’m hearing that Ryan is on probation, Hansen has been fired, and NZRU is approaching Schmidt, Smithy, and Tony Brown to assist. My source isn’t clear on what the story is with Razor (my assumption is he's gone as per reporting but I haven't explicitly been told that) except that apparently he’s absolutely seething and refusing to go down without a fight.

Only got that as a text message so will update when I get more info.

I'm not even trying to dig Razor out here, but he needs to walk and accept defeat here. It would be worse for his own reputation if he hung around after all this. He has to go.

@SammyC has made the point here a few times about him only giving a shit about RWC success and then moving to another country. That's probably why he's digging his heels in and putting up a fight.

The thing about the ABs gig is that every test matters. We're more than just a RWC team.

Agreed, our overall winning record is far more important to me than world cup success.

Same here. If one of our missed kicks in the 2023 WC went over and we won, I still don't think people's opinions of Fozzie would have changed, and even I still wouldn't have forgotten the poor period we had between 2021-2022.

I think it would have greatly changed the narrative in the eyes of the public; just look at Beaver. At the Fern? Less so

Taking some of those old past it players on that end of year tour was completely unforgivable. I wanted him to succeed but he dug his own deep grave. What a complete shambles.

It's funny with the Papali'i oil. It was confirmed on here so long ago that it's just old news now. @handa457 has already started chapter 2 of the story.

He's lost the dressing room so he's gone. And he's only got himself to blame. Exit with whatever grace you have left because we shouldn't have a lame duck taking us "forward"

I wonder if any other 2nd best team in the world with a 74% winrate sacks the coach? Shows just how high a standard we expect from the AB's. I feel for the incoming coach given the 2026 schedule.

Feel sorry for Razor as a human.

However as an international coach, he was a poor orator, poor selector, picked wrong captain, wrong coaches, and poor in game and post game lesson learner. He also turned the other cheek to the media and judiciary alike. We were mugged off on the field and in the courtroom.

I am now sporting a trouser chubby as I welcome back my ruthless Allblack overlords.

We were always at our best with an edge in the building, an aloofness to the squad and management coupled with an inherent culture of failure being un-fucking-acceptable.

The rest of the world better take note.

I wonder if I can use that in a MS Teams meeting in the near future?

Either same oil or (more likely) stolen straight from here, unless that's @handa457's account.

if he's seething and on probation and it is well known the support staff and many senior players weren't happy (at least about his main man and possibily/probably him as well) that can't make for a great immediate future working environment!

Yup. He'll only be an impediment to us unless he can get over it. Fair play if he can't, but then he should be gone as well

Not a problem. I’m a bit restricted with what I can say as if I name drop etc(especially my post the other day about curfew breaking)things could get ugly and then sources could get in the shit.

Hearing a lot of different information frim multiple people yesterday and today and some of it is clashing/different information so I won’t share it unless there’s a high chance it’s true.

I can say this, but it isn’t really groundbreaking news now. There’s more than 1 or 2 players who don’t like Hansen, it’s the majority. There is still a divide in this playing group which is split into 3 group, Islanders - Crusaders - the rest.

The double standards were the final straw for a lot of the squad. The toxic stuff has been going on since the French series.

Some of you may remember when I dropped the Leon McDonald stuff, got questioned on it then a couple months later he asked to leave. Things have only been getting worse since then.

As AB fans it’s concerning but changing this coaching group is the best thing that could happen right now. The players need someone who they respect and a coach that will hold them accountable. The team has lost its way and we are running out of time before the 2027 World Cup. Here’s hoping we get back on track and fast.
