Mental skills weren't exactly a strong suit of the All Blacks during Enoka's final years of invomment. I think he's done his time but would be happy to see someone with a similar remit.

Similar to a few names mentioned in this thread, their time(s) have passed, but yes, I do agree.

    kills it in the interview

Whilst I know what you mean I'd hope I'd nit base the decision on how a candidate goes in an interview. Would like to think they weigh up all pros and cons, including performance over time, ability to work with others, psych testing, actual qualifications etc ...

(Not to mention hairdo and BMI ... they seem to be important.)

tubbyj is taking Razor's firing personal. I take no delight in it, but I agree with Kirk's assertion that we weren't on the desired trajectory and a reset was needed if we are to have any chance of doing well in the remaining two years of this cycle

    Check out 3.34:

Anyone else getting weird vibes from this clip??

Ardie going through his gospel, looks like a cult leader.

And everyone clicking their fingers to show support rather than clapping like most normal humans, as if to indicate they are more aware and morally righteous for clicking in a room where I assume no one in it has high sensitivity to noise considering they play in packed stadiums??

And then why is he going through counting the number of Islanders/fijians in the team that are starting and celebrating as if a quota has been met?

Our diversity should be celebrated and rightfully so..but the vibe here feels more divisive as opposed to inclusive.

I'm happy Razor is gone, but I get toxic vibes from Ardie, and worry the more he sticks around the more he is influencing the newbies joining the group ie Sititi and co.

Albeit I also cringe seeing the golfing group in the ABs as well.

Starting to look like a cliche high school movie from the outside with all the cliques.

    Exactly why I posted it.

Would we have got that apparent clique if the boss acted differently?

@booboo The next coach needs to come in and break this apart before it gets even more toxic than it already is.

It's got so bad they're keeping dibs now on who is or isn't being picked as starters from their clique.

Will they refuse to train or give negative feedback for the incoming coach if they don't get what they want in the future as well??

(razor deserved to go, but I'm concerned there's a rot forming from senior established starters where it may actually be better to get rid of all of them and move forward with the next gen).

The team needs a fresh start. I'd pick Wallace Sititi. ( despite a less than impressive second season )

When Dalton Papalii is there to do the heavy lifting he'll shine again.

Too early for Wallace and Roigard IMHO but they def. need to be in the Snr Mgmnt group.

How does Sititi get mentioned in the same breath as senior management group? He's a two year All Black with less than 50 first class games to his name and hardly first choice XV.

No just games played, but attitude. Looks a natural leader to me. Think we need some fresh thinking/blood and Roigard and Sititi

Lay down the law, be transparent, demand buy in. And sideline those who aren't happy to get on board

Runs counter to other info on here, but my channels tell me T Brown is free to walk from the Boks now if he wants.

Possibly a unpopular take but I'd go with Jordie as captain for the short term with Roigard and Sititi as vice captains.

Move on the other Barrett bros, Savea, Reece, ALB etc. Starting bringing blokes like Reihana, Tangitau, JRK, Flanders, Howden and bring back Fakatava in the squad.

Cotter 64, Rennie 61, Schmidt 60, all these guys would've been ideal options post-Hansen after 2019 WC or 10 years ago but now the timing is such, they'd only be 2-year parachute options until 2027 WC.

Which ironically, may be an ideal opportunity for NZR. Spend 2 years steadying the ship using a blend of experience and then promote someone who understands the culture/gameplan/players and can take things forward

Scott Barrett is 32, I think he's had an injury. If the coaches played him at not 100% I wonder if he should be to blame. Not my first choice as captain but we actually don't have fantastic lock depth.

Interesting hearing Pat Lam saying NZ Rugby's coach recruitment process is flawed because they miss out on talent by asking each applicant to name their assistant coaches in advance... Tony Brown was missed even though Razor wanted him, but he was part of JJ's group...

Instead why don't they let applicants apply as individuals... and then the winner gets to choose his assistants after they get the job? Surely this opens up the coaching talent pool?

Holland, Patty T, Darry, Vaai, Lord? A decent young core with veterans as well. But SB is in the mix

I think (could have misremembered) that was Sam Whitelock's point as well.
