@Billy-Tell Sorry forgot to header it. It's an extract from a report on the ROAR website.

Time for the 20 minute heat/water break in the preseason game between the Chiefs and Bulls in Brisbane, and the Bulls lead 14 to 7.

The Chiefs try was scored by Brad Weber and converted by Steven Donald.

The Bulls twitter feed is saying that it is a high paced game (despite the heat).

No points scored in the second quarter, so the half time score is still Chiefs 7 - 14 Bulls.

    Bulls team:

15 Jesse Kriel, 14 Travis Ismaiel, 13 Dries Swanepoel, 12 Burger Odendaal, 11 Jamba Ulengo, 10 Handré Pollard (captain), 9 Rudy Paige, 8 Hanro Liebenberg, 7 Jacques Potgieter, 6 Nic de Jager, 5 Lood de Jager, 4 RG Snyman, 3 Trevor Nyakane, 2 Jaco Visagie, 1 Pierre Schoeman

Substitutes: 16 Edgar Maruthlule, 17 Lizo Gqoboka, 18 Jason Jenkins, 19 Ruan Steenkamp, 20 Piet van Zyl, 21 Tian Schoeman, 22 Warrick Gelant, 23 John-Roy Jenkinson, 24 Jacobie Adriaanse, 25 Renaldo Bothma, 26 Francois Brummer, 27 JT Jackson

Not a bad side but probably should not be 21 points better.

Good to see Pollard back though.

I wonder if that's the difference the Bulls need.

Only a handful of potential Bulls starters missing there.

    Adriaan Strauss (Springbok)
    Jan Serfontein (Springbok)
    Arno Botha (Springbok)
    Jannes Kirsten (2016 Forward OTY)
    Roelof Smit (Springbok)

I'm tipping the Bulls to knock off the Stormers (terrible loose-trio and unsettled backline) in week 1 and be our best side this season.

Pleasantly surprised to see Halanukonuka and Osborne still there, for some reason I thought they'd gone. What's the news on Barracuda?

Some interesting choices in that Crusaders' starting team. Enari starting at halfback, Goodhue at centre and Tamanivalu on the wing, and Whetu Douglas.

Also, some interesting omissions from the game day squad:

Beidwell-Curtis, Jager, Ioane, Makalio, Bateman, Fukofuka and Macilai

Which of these guys are injured and which seemingly not in favour?

@Stargazer Loose forwards aside, that's a strong looking Crusaders team. A lot depends on how Goodhue and Enari step up, of course.

Digby and Seta on the wings could be a good shout.

Ioane (hip) and Bateman (back) didn't play the final of the Brisbane Tens because of minor injuries, so I assume they are being rested to make sure that they are fully fit for their opening game against the ponies next week.

Macilai injured his knee during Mitre 10 Cup and needed surgery; he is expected to miss most of the SR season.

Makalio and Fukofuka did play the Brisbane Tens; I don't know why they're not in tomorrow's squad. Fukofuka may be absent because Mitchell Drummond returns from injury and needs game time. Enari was not in the Brisbane Tens squad either (but played against the Highlanders).

Jager was named in the initial Brisbane Tens squad, but I can't remember whether he played or not.

Bedwell-Curtis wasn't named in the Brisbane Tens squad, nor in the squad for the game against the Highlanders, so I can only assume he's injured.
