@kiwimurph That's a pretty handy team, though a bit inexperienced at lock and six.

    1. May
    2. Abel
    3. Lomax
    4. Parkinson
    5. Walker-Leawere
    6. Hemopo
    7. Harmon
    8. Ioane
    9. Hall
    10. Black
    11. NMS
    12. Thompson
    13. Proctor
    14. Lowe
    15. Stevenson

@tim Yeah i'm more interested in the lineup for the US game which will be without the AB players in Japan as on paper it should be the toughest game for the MABs.

    Something like this

    1. Eves/May
    2. Dixon (Abel is in better form but Dixon has played a lot of rugby for the MABs)
    3. Renata
    4. Parkinson
    5. Walker-Leawere
    6. Prinsep (not a fan of Matenga)
    7. Harmon
    8. Ioane
    9. Ruru
    10. Black
    11. Lowe
    12. Walden
    13. Thompson
    14. Makene
    15. Stevenson

Hell no! 😉 Either of the two Hawkes Bay boys at 9 for me. Probably Ash Dixon at hooker too. But agree with the rest aside from May, I don't think he's up to starting anymore (see I can remove a Magpie as well).

I wonder if we will get TV coverage of Chile and Brazil?
If so probably filmed by soccer cameramen from miles too far away!

@stargazer I looked up Josh Ioane and couldn't find any info on him being Māori, so I thought he wasn't. Great to see him picked ahead of JGB!

Just on Josh Ioane,he’s my sister in-laws first cousins grandson, the father is Samoan ,the mother is a Pirini from Northland
He’s got ties to both Northland and Auckland ,schooled at Kings College in Auckland ..you could say another one that got away from both Northland and Auckland

Didn't you already know he was Maori then (or have I confused that confusing sentence? 🙂 ).

@nepia That first sentence in @Steven-Harris' post comes from my comments on the team naming.

Yeah, I saw that, but his subsequent sentence suggests that he knows of his Maori ancestry independent of anything in the media (unless of course I interpreted that sentence wrong, which is a possibility).

Pissed me off no end in the last couple of years watching him run around for Otago - clearly has some talent - meanwhile Auckland were stuck with no hoper Hickey and grandpa Bowden. Thankfully Plummer looks a decent prospect in his own right.
