@antipodean I watched the season also (episode 1 was by far the stinker) but I think the biggest problem is that Space Force didn't know what it wanted to be, goofy farce or snarky satire or cutesy family drama so was a weird mash up of all three. Really excellent cast wasted. They did leave it on a cliffhanger, but not sure if anyone is going to be super enthused about a S2.

I can vaguely remember a bit of scorn but no real outrage?

I started off really liking him, he was funny as fuck - but I ended up quite disliking him - he isn't a very nice human being.
