Man I'm sick of the pundits and commentators negativity towards VAR in England. According to them it's always controversial, it's always unfortunate when their goals are correctly overturned, etc.
It's a shocking attitude, I haven't seen any wrong decision so far and it's the farking rules. It's atrocious when this negativity is being led by the media.

Pretty sure that the US league is one of the best in the world. Soccer (as they call it) is the number one sport for women over there, they take it very seriously.
I knew that, just an observation on my part. The collegiate (read: university) sports system in the US lends itself to producing world class athletes and football/soccer is one of those for the women.
The fact that Abby Erceg captains her team (North Carolina Courage) and was voted the best defender in the league highlights how good she is on a world stage.

Interesting to see what the All Blacks do that year. A World Cup is already tough on finances and in 2023 they will probably only be able to play games at Albany.
Great to see us get this event though. I hope we get big crowds, it would be awesome to ee Eden Park sold out.

Albany has been the main ground used for finals in the previous FIFA tournaments held in NZ, and is probably the right size. I went to the U17 mens final (Brazil vs Australia) there in 1999 and it was a 23K sellout. 25K were at the U20 mens final in 2015. Eden Park's capacity would be a double that.

Sorry, my original post wasn't clear. The Womens World Cup will be played at Eden Park. During the World Cup (and for a period before) no other sport can use those grounds. So the only largeish stadium available for All Blacks tests would be Albany Stadium. Super Rugby is normally over by that point but you are looking at ABs tests in places like Napier, Taranaki etc. Will be a big hit for the NZRU in a world cup year.
You couldn't host the opening game of the Womens World cup at Albany. We wouldn't have got the tournament if we suggested that.

The demand is there world wide, not sure if there is for coming to NZ/Oz or within our communities to go to the stadiums? Do the ladies dive as much as the men? Cos I'd watch it if they don;'t, otherwise (until it is cleaned up totally) I am really not interested.

@hydro11 I understood what you were saying regarding the options for AB tests during that period if the 4 main stadia are not able to be used. The Wallabies will be in the same situation.
My comment was based around the huge step up in ground capacity for the Women's WC games in NZ, and it remains to be seen if they can fill Eden Park. Of course, Aust will be using Stadium Australia and Brisbane Stadium which are larger than Eden Park. Both countries will be relying on a lot of overseas fans.

Yeah, fair point. I think they have made a mistake in only using 5 venues even when hosting half the pool games. I think I would have chucked Napier and New Plymouth in there for two games each. It just spreads the tournament out through the country and means you aren't going to get one venue with too many games. With the current amount of games you could be looking at over 7 in Auckland which is a huge ask. It will be interesting to see how many global fans will actually travel for this.
