i honestly dont think its any worse than most of the Warriors "special" jerseys or any of the Marvel ones

I wouldn't buy it but it doesn't stand out amongst many other bad jerseys

I agree, this seems to be a weird Fern meltdown over a not great but not bad jersey.

Remember this existed and it was worn throughout the season:

Worth noting no NZ team has logged 5 competition points in the last 4 games.

It looks like it's going to be a home final for the Blues; currently the Highlanders sitting at 2nd place, but they play the Brumbies away next week, and the Crusaders the Rebels.

@kiwiwomble The Highlanders have their game on Friday; so the Crusaders will know exactly what they need to do on Saturday.

That match up is cursed though, put money on a lockdown.

I'm not too fussed about that eh, tahs haven't had too many issues putting points on other sides.

Would be crazy if we made the final.

just a general comment about the Trans Ta$man matches-is anyone else getting pissed at the CONTINUAL Australian tactic of lotering around behind a ruck after making a tackle, then wandering into the way of the halfback's potential pass. It happens ALL the time, and is blatant, but commentators are all missing it.
or is it just me, haha

@wairau yeah it seemed pretty common in this game, they got away with it a bit, Hammington was constantly stepping over and around props.

I am struggling with the officiating in this comp. The treatment of various things differs hugely between matches. TJs and TMOs only seem to look back when the travelling team scores and ignore clear knock ons or other infringements when it is the team playing nearest their home base. Commentators use of 'home team' really irked last night. Reds and Blues send out decoy runners and cleaners constantly and it is OK but they cracked down last night. Converse on head contact and diving head first into breakdown. Anything goes now. Really don't know how players cope at times when so many cards and penalty tries have been flying about recently. It also makes it hard to watch. I think the rule makers need to make things easier for referees and players. Or is the issue simply that our coaches cynically train players in the grey areas of the laws to see what they can get away with.

I hear this a bit but I’m not sure that is as simple as that given where the game is now. We’ve had ELVs and any number of NH and SH versions of different things. Given the size of players and the pro training and conditioning, the hits and collisions are harder than when the game seemed “simpler”.

Or is the issue simply that our coaches cynically train players in the grey areas of the laws to see what they can get away with.

I hear this a bit but I’m not sure that is as simple as that given where the game is now. We’ve had ELVs and any number of NH and SH versions of different things. Given the size of players and the pro training and conditioning, the hits and collisions are harder than when the game seemed “simpler”.

coaches are too quick to circumvent any law adjustments anyway, they end up being pointless within a month, while everyone is just confused until then.

                                          this without a doubt happens.

i have to say i was surprised with my new club, we have a forwards consultant who has gone around several clubs in Melbourne. He is blatant with some of the grey...and not so grey...aspects and openly coached them, nothing dangerous mind you, not deliberate collapsed scrums or something. Last time I plays there were dark arts but it was more of a personal thing, you worked out how you wanted to bed the rules yourself
