@r-l said in Happiness Scale: I don't get to eat a lot of bread, so I know what is or isn't a baguette, trust me! Size is the obvious difference... But who's measuring ay!? Is your real-life name Samantha and do you work in the record library of the BBC?

@r-l said in Happiness Scale: @bones I thought we agreed not tell anyone about that, you said you were going to the doctors! that's where it started

@r-l said in Happiness Scale: @bones yes, i did warn you not to be loose just because he offered you a free Greg's and a can of Stella...and to think you made me watch. I'm traumatised. you said you were "working"

@r-l at least I'm not finishing off animals. I feel on top of the world.

@victor-meldrew I'm missing the reference I suspect ... No I'm not a Samantha, nor do I work for the BBC...

@r-l Responding to your (intentional?) double-entendre.... It's from "I'm Sorry I haven't a Clue". She's the fictional scorer/record librarian who's the subject of very filthy and funny double-entendres from Jack Dee

@r-l said in Happiness Scale: @bones I get it now... If anything, I would have hoped that would teach you to watch your phrasing!

@booboo said in Happiness Scale: Ook ? Are you referring to the Alaskan white owl or the modulation technique I can (just) recall was used in the ancient telecoms systems I train on as a spotty teenager...?

A reference to my favourite Discworld character by Terry Pratchett: The Librarian. His vocabulary is limited to varying emphasis on "Ook".

His vocabulary is limited to varying emphasis on "Ook".Ahh. now I understand Samantha is more than just a librarian though as Humphrey Lyttleton explains: "Samantha has just started keeping bees, and already has three dozen or so. She says she's got an expert handler coming round to give a demonstration. He'll carefully take out her 36 bees... and soon have them flying round his head"

Kind of happy to not be playing rugby tomorrow due to COVID after waking up with a sore lower back - training up second rows is a tough gig and sometimes they push early and twist the scrum machine. Ugh. Also recovering from this MCL to a degree. I'm stuck on 95 caps. Last Saturday was meant to be 96 but one of the opposition got flattened trying to make a tackle, and needed an ambulance so we had to abandon the game. so we had to abandon the game.
