Conway gone. A quick look down the order, and that is as weak a lineup as I can remember for many a year

I might just watch this series. Haven't been into cricket for some time (there was just way too much of it for me) but this series could be a good follow.

    7-3.

Conway learnt little from watching Latham and Young's dismissals.

Opps, not a great start for the BCs. Odd decision to bat first. There's been loads of rain around London in the last week.

Stokes and McCullum will be the happiest Kiwis at Lords at the minute.

The Black Caps batting coach(es) and psychologists don't seem to do much these days - except possibly watching from the stands with a few beers.

Similar to the home summer, in the two warm-up games the Black Caps top order fronted in one game, and then spent the other game metaphorically in the pub. Kane spent much of the IPL batting like it was a test match series, but unfortunately his form didn't carry through.

At one stage we were 9/5, and then 19/6 against a county team. https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/new-zealand-in-england-2022-1276891/first-class-counties-xi-vs-new-zealanders-tour-match-1311520/full-scorecard

Blundell with match scores of 8 & 0.

... Doesn't matter whether Wags plays or not when the top order bat with little intelligence and even less fortitude...

    Oh - fuck off.
I was considering signing up for a Spark Sport 7-day free trial tomorrow, to give the grandfather some cricket to watch "on-demand" tomorrow.
Fucked if I'm going to show him this... it'd be guaranteed heart attack; worse than turning up covid-ridden.
Edit: and, in case I'm to blame, off to bed with me. Fucking 12/4 bullshit.

At this rate NZC might give us Bob Carter with all his learnings from coaching the White Ferns... 😅 ☹

Maybe not even the rain forecast for the whole jubilee weekend will save us...

Atrocious fucking batting - all 4 batsmen have gone out playing with hard hands at the ball & playing away from their bodies... amazed we chose to bat when their wickets are well known for seaming around a lot, we probably chose to bat first to give Boult more time to recover, well that really bit us in the arse big time.

Bloody hell - I had a look at the dress rehearsal scoreboard before the game and saw Latham 4, Young 0, Williamson 0, Conway 5 and thought I hope they do better than that....Blundell also made 0 and we were 9/5!!!

    We barely have.....

Worst World Test Champions ever!!! 🙂

Saw Fitzy's in the stand - give him a slot for a lunch-time pep talk.

Except for Williamson he played with soft hands on a tight line but he got done by the Lords slope. .

Five in the slip cordon, or four slips and a bat pad this morning certainly screams BMac in the coaching box...

when you have a team 4 down for stuff all they were always going to stack the slips & really put the squeeze on.
