Think a lot of that sounds like bullshit / hearsay from a bitter anti-Mercedes F1 fan.

They haven't got it right this season so far, but they are still 3rd in the constructors and have had 2 podiums.

I predict they will improve and win at least 2-3 races this year. You only need to look at McLaren to see that 2022 is going to be a very up/down season for all.

I'd agree, too much to do to mount a serious challenge but they will improve. The big question is Hamilton's form compared to Russell.

Max wins in Miami, Leclerc 2nd & Sainz 3rd

Great start by Max. He closes the gap to Charles in the drivers championship

            Russel beats Hamilton again

MB appear to have worked out what was causing the porpoising. They're now running lower to the ground and the car has genuine pace.

George Russell starts on the second row next to the second Ferrari. Behind them, Perez and seven time world champion Hamilton. Predictably Leclerc and Max are on the front row.

Catalunya circuit is great for bikes, not so much for cars. Traditionally very difficult to overtake. But Max's long run stints in practice still looked better as Ferrari try to get better tyre wear from their car.

Someone will be looking for a new job in Ferrari's engine department.

Toto crying that a rule change should be mandated by the FIA to make his car competitive.

Red Bull storming away with both championships.

@Machpants It's difficult to say this without seeming dickish, but Toyota are racing themselves. There's no other manufacturers like Audi or Porsche in the category.

Cracking race at Silverstone. Big accident on opening lap. Zhou Guanyu ended up wedged between the tyre barrier and fence. Very lucky the car didn't catch fire.

One of those crashes where they don't show a replay for 15mins or so until they are sure the driver is alive and has all his limbs

Fun race but that was largely because Max's car was having issues

Drivers championship is currently grouped by manufacturer - RB, RB, Ferrari, Ferrari, Mercedes, Mercedes

Doubt anyone catches Max. At this stage I think the inter-team battles will be the most interesting - which Ferrari driver beats the other and can Lewis pass Russell?

F1 cars are so much better at not going 'flamerino' (RAF aircrew term from the bad old days), and the halo obviously saved his life. Bit shit that Russell parked up and ran over to check on him/help, and then was out of the race cos the parking warden towed his car whilst he was out.

Thats missing a step. He returned to the car and couldn't get it started. Then he left the car a second time and went back to his team. That's when it was put on the flatbed

He claims he asked the marshals to leave it. Not sure what the protocol is when they are tasked with clearing the track

                                    edit - quote from Russell:
"I jumped out the car to see if Zhou was okay and I saw it was red flagged straight away but when I came back to the car, I couldn’t quite get it started for whatever reason, so I ran back to the team to check.

I asked the marshals to leave the car and next thing, when I got back, the car was on the back of the flatbed which meant I couldn’t restart."

The TV coverage showed when he went back and tried to restart the car after checking on Zhou

He wasn't getting that car around the track and back into the pits missing a rear wheel anyway.

One of the best races in many a year.

Insane first start & as much as all the commentators say nobody wants to see this etc etc it is part of motor racing& does add to the drama. You know it's a big event though when they don't show replays for 15 minutes. Anyway, the racing at the start, the restart & then the last few laps was just brilliant. Plenty of proper overtaking spots.

Really does make you wonder why all these new tracks have not designed a much more racing friendly track. They may claim they have, but why does Silverstone year in, year out provide fantastic racing? What is the difference?

George Russell isn't the first racing driver to forget the truth after facing a penalty. There is of course a chance he could have been able to get the car started & then back around around the track without a rear tyre, but it was exceedingly unlikely.

Found part of me cheering for Hamilton yesterday which is a first ...

The way Le Clerc got his comeuppance after constantly whining about Sainz was pretty tasty too. Unbelievable racing in the last ten laps, so exciting and yeah I was cheering Hamilton on too.

Was pretty odd when the commentators refused to even acknowledge Perez before the safety car let them go.
