@Kiwiwomble Yes, that's why many Top 14 clubs have signed so-called RWC jokers (RWC replacement players) on short-term deals (which apparently can not last beyond approx. 14 November).

Hmm, part of the 2003 co-hosting agreement was there was no other rugby on in the countries at the time.
