Scranton was much better than Lawes. GCT held his own very well too.

Great game from Luatua. Very impressed.

@hydro11 Lions only got dominance when the Blues starting props went off, and Marler & Sinckler came on TBH. Hard to see the BIL getting any dominance over the AB props. Laws & Itoje looked a good combination, a bit excitable maybe.

@westcoastie Itoje is like that - big chest pumps and fist pumps - runs in to slap players on the back etc, etc, seems to be rated in the NH, but not enough dirty work in the tight for mine

Let's keep this civil. As much as I love a good circle jerk, these threads are much better with the Lions fans involved. Don't want them to leave before the tests.

@Pot-Hale How so is it bollocks? We are continually told that we cheat and are cynical, cheap shots. Ask your Irish friends. Oh sorry I'm supposed to be quiet when you kick for goal.

Because it was a bollocks generalisation. I was commenting on the booing for the decision and deciding to take a kick. I'm well used to seeing kickers booed up here never mind down there.

Not sure if you guys got the interview with Luatua after the game but it summed up a lot.
He was asked if that move with SBW was planned (because that's how it looks to the guys brought up on a diet of NH rugby) and he said, nah I was meant to give it to him earlier but it wasn't on so popped it late knowing he would be there on a good line.
That is the instinctive type of play that doesn't come easily.

Meanwhile Gatland is stumbling all over the place in his post match.

@Crash definitely an all-action kinda fellow, just sometimes that doesn't translate to anything meaningful... he wouldn't have come up against Rettalick at all yet would he? I personally feel like BBBR is going to just about eat him for breakfast.

Question is starting to become: which game can the Lions win? Super rugby sides only get stronger from here, and the Lions are worryingly tepid.

It's easy to blame it on the difference in speed between the two hemispheres, but in both games so far the Lions have looked slower in thought and action than many of their club or national side, and also a lower than the past two tours.

They need a big reaction on Saturday.

@SimonAdd_2 Crusaders catch the BIL in the more formative stages, I reckon the BIL probably beat the other three...I can't imagine any AB's being released for the Canes and without those guys the Canes are significantly weaker, same for Highlanders and Chiefs.

The Blues save their best to last. My favourite Blues win maybe since the title in 03 or King Carlos owning Crusaders in 04. Awesome!
