Can't believe you haven't been already? Pack the car (leave the Mrs and kids behind if they whinge about the distance). <br>
This vid is the best thing I have seen that conveys some sense of the size of the motherfucker. It's usually quite difficult due to the lack of references around to provide scale. <br>
Be very prepared to be fleeced by everything at anything at Yulara. Definitely take a beer supply or be whacked $30 for a 6 pack of rubbish beer at the bottle store. You do want to stay a night though to see a sunset and sunrise -

<p>Its definitely on the list for a road trip. I've covered most of the southeastern half of the mainland but never got closer than Broken Hill/Peterborough - along that road.</p>

<p>A mate of mine in Adelaide is keen for the road trip, but its just time that is the factor. From Sydney I reckon about a week is right - take a day and a bit to get to Adelaide, pick up the copilot, then two days up to get time for that sunrise/set and then the whole thing in reverse.</p>

<p>Wife is interested, but only in flying there.</p> -
