Why take a DG when you have a PK right in front of the posts in the 22m? That is just dumb.
That happens all the time though. We don’t get it (which is what usually happens) and we go back to the penalty. Which we would’ve taken the kick given the scoreline.
Yeah but a ref almost never calls advantage over for a PK in the 22m without a try being scored. May as well have a go at a try and if that fails you come back for the PK. It would be different if the PK was further out or in a tricky position.

You have a a lot of faith in Garces and "almost never". Absolutely would not have shocked me if they went wide three phases and advantage was called over.
