If only Hunt had a ground game. He had a monster take down but landed straight in Wurdum's guard so he had to stand up immediately to avoid a submission. But he knocked him. Over a couple of times and had he been confident enough he should have gone in for some nasty ground and pound to close it out. 
Not always as easy as that but it would have been interesting

Wow, I didn't think that would happen at all. UFC's even more carny than the WWE these days, so I thought they'd pretend it never happened like they have with a bunch of other incidents. Credit where it's due though, that's a smart move, Jones is a complete mess.

Edit: Yep, Cormier vs Rumble. Cormier was already scheduled to fight a couple weeks later, so at least he'll be decently prepared.

Jones has well and truly gone off the rails. It wasn't that long ago he was "allegedly" saving a women from a mugger. 
I think rumble looks really good and has the mustard to KO Cormier but if Cormier can get those take downs it could be a long night for Johnson. 
I hope Weidman knocks Belfort back to the favela.

Pre-lims were decent but all went to the scorecard.
 
Great, great main card.
 
Arlovski v Browne saw 'The Pitbull' back to his best. And he took a cracker to the chin from Browne that would have finished him a couple of years ago.
 
'Cowboy' Cerrone broke Makdessi's jaw with a sweet kick.
 
Weidman battered Belfort on the ground.
 
Cormier surprised everyone with an emphatic win. Smothered Johnson and took some heavy shots.

Awesome card. Had a blast watching it. Big Travis Browne's body just wouldn't accept he was knocked out and kept swinging till he almost won it. Cracked me up when Arlovski said he was about to give up because he didn't know what else to do.

Yeah, it was a great card.
 
I was stoked with the Cormier and Weidman wins. Cormier because he finally got his big win (though technically he got that in Strikeforce) and Weidman because he destroyed Captain Steroids.
 
Also great to see Travis Browne wrecked. Fuck him and that shitty haka mixed with techno entrance music. You're Hawaiian, you fluffybunny!
 
Just a pity Khabib got injured. I think he would've thrown Cerrone around like a rag doll and if he can stay fit, will be the next Lightweight champ.

Biggest UFC news is the Reebok deal at the moment. Most of the roster are getting big pay cuts because they can no longer advertise their sponsors on TV and instead, they have to wear some hilariously shit gear. Also, Reebok couldn't even use Google or Wikipedia properly because they misspelled a ton of fighters names, including "Giblert Melendez."

WOW!!! 
Matt Brown was hard as nails. But how is he only on the prelim card? 
Pickett v Almeida 
Kid's (Almeida) got skills and toughness. What a finish. 
Nelson v Thatch 
Great combo from Nelson to put Thatch on his arse. Seen plenty of fights stopped there. Thatch covered up well, but Nelson too good and too strong to finish with rear naked choke. 
Bermudez v Stephens 
A technical brawl of the highest order, with a superb knee from Stephens to finish it. 
Lawler v MacDonald 
Fantastic footwork, octagon management and patience from Lawler to wear down and beat up a very game MacDonald, and then a cracking headkick from MacDonald to finish the third round and rock Lawler. 
Awesome start to the 4th for MacDonald, Lawler was rocked and lost his footwork. But finished the round the stronger. 
The punishent was too much for MacDonald and he folded in the fifth. 
A cracking Championship fight. 
One of the best. 
McGregor v Mendes 
Christ you wouldn't mess with Sinead O'Connor. What a way to start us off. 
Bruce Buffer was off the charts. 
McGregor full of antics and scoring, but Mendes finished the round strong and took it. 
Mendes takes it to the floor for 4 minutes of round 2, McGregor takes a whole gang of elbows, slips the submission attempt and then finishes Mendes with seconds to go in the round. 
Believe the hype. 
'D'ya like dags?' 
Boxing can't compete with a card like that.
