Is that 9 Blues and 5 Crusaders? Honestly never thought I'd see the day. Better win!

Isn't there some bullshit saying about when Auckland rugby is strong?

Last time I heard it with any degree of certainty was 2003...😗

21-year-old Caleb Clarke gave the Wallabies nightmares in a barnstorming All Blacks debut in Bledisloe II. Now the Wallabies are out for revenge for that 17-7 hammering, and they’ve put a target firmly on the winger’s back.

17-7 I see what they did there.

I don't even know who the fuck that journo is - assume as FoxSports sinks into obscurity they're just hiring random dickheads with the right school tie, and they don't know who the Wallabies are because their school is transitioning to AFL.

I like the opportunity for McReight off the bench as well. Really rate him but he's in a David Croft style logjam for 7 with Hooper and Liam Wright. Hope he goes well as he killed it at U20 and showed real promise for the Reds.

Interesting move to drop Gordon for McDermott but I think the young man has potential

@NTA hes already better than Wright and Hooper is off next year. I think he'll be starting next year.

As an aside - the is probably the youngest and least capped Wallaby side in history?

Yeah Wright's strength is his ability to cover 6 but as a 7 I think McReight has already passed him.

Daugunu told journalists on Wednesday: We’re looking forward to playing against him again on Saturday.

“Our aim is to kick to him and contest (the ball) – for him to catch it so we can smash him. Our target for this week was him. I can’t wait to hit him.”

Asked if the Kiwi gun had a target on his head, Daugunu simply said “yes.”

And I guess as they will mostly looking at his back then that is the best place to put the target

@Nevorian And Clarke is particulary good under the high ball, to the point that the Crusaders plan was to NOT kick to him.

Im also guessing with all this talk of "smashing him", that if does occur illegally, now that it is public there is likely to be a good old fashioned "handbags at five paces" with a few players running in. Adds to the theatre for this weekend

Is kicking to him to smash him it a legit tactic? I agree with @kirwan that it didnt work in SRA, so who knows if they will go through with it. I would say its probably more due to the fact that because none of them could tackle him last time and wanting to make a statement of intent, that they will make at least one tackle this time

maybe im too simple, i would have thought starving him of ball, maybe force him to come off his wing looking for it would be better

All smoke and mirrors I reckon.

These are the sorts of things all teams/coaches throw out before a test. Feeding crumbs to the masses thinking they’re being fed a meal!

I'm all for a bit of shit talk. Get amongst it lads!! talk yourselves up! Put your opposite on notice.

Beats the fuck out of the usual heavily-media-coached bullshit.

Most media attached to professional sports is completely useless.

@Nevorian And Clarke is particulary good under the high ball, to the point that the Crusaders plan was to NOT kick to him.
