I have to agree with Fozzie that a year on and we still haven't worked out a solution for travelling sports teams.
I can only guess that the whingers that 'hate' sport and those that want more Wiggles tours would never shut up if you put strict vaccination/testing/bubble rules in place for a rugby team.

Visiting teams have to accept NZ restrictions: 3 days solo, then into smaller bubbles, then full team training last week. As pointed out non rugby teams have done it, cest la vie.

As to foster complaining about lack of creative solutions, oh the irony is thick!

I had to laugh at that one, Ironic indeed.

Rugby Championship 2021: 47-man roster confirmed by Argentina

Rugby Championship 2021: Argentina Missing XV

When compared to the roster from the 2020 Tri Nations, there are eleven names missing. They are forwards José Luis González, Ignacio Calles, Ignacio Calas, Lucio Sordoni, Mayco Vivas, Federico Wegrzyn, Santiago Grondona and backs Tomás Albornoz, Juan Imhoff, Lucas Mensa and Ramiro Moyano.

Multiple factors explain why the above names are not selected for the 2021 tournament. Some players are sidelined with injuries, others were wider roster options who have recently joined teams abroad and some are simply out of favor. ...

Since the team naming, yesterday, the news has come out that Tomás Cubelli needs surgery on his hand. He'll be replaced.
Also, props Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro and Francisco Gómez Kodela will only be available for the South African leg of the RC.

New Zealand Rugby (NZR) has announced Eden Park in Auckland will host back-to-back Bledisloe Cup Tests against Australia on Saturday 7 August and Saturday 14 August.

Confirmation of the venues and dates means the second Bledisloe Cup Series Test, which is now also the opening match of the newly-named Fortinet Rugby Championship, has been moved from Sky Stadium in Wellington, where it was originally scheduled to be played on Saturday 28 August.

SANZAAR has also confirmed the third and final Bledisloe Cup Test will be played at Optus Stadium in Perth where the two teams will meet on Saturday 28 August, a week later than first scheduled.

The revised schedule means New Zealand will now not be hosting the two Fortinet Rugby Championship Tests against Argentina, which had been scheduled for Eden Park in Auckland on 11 September and Sky Stadium in Wellington on 18 September. They will now be played in Australia, with details of the matches to be announced by SANZAAR in due course.

NZR is continuing to plan for two Tests against South Africa, at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin on Saturday 25 September, and at Eden Park on Saturday 2 October.

Fans who have purchased tickets for any of the three affected Tests will receive a full refund and should expect to be contacted by the relevant ticket providers Ticketmaster and Ticketek in due course.

considering where we are at over here, i am pretty annoyed that suddenly rugby teams are just allowed to move around not just between states, but over the Ta$man.

I will keep banging this drum. Locking people in their houses, but allowing pro sports to move around and play is some shitty shit.

                @mariner4life I can't agree

Robertson said allowing the Wallabies in on an exemption was a "very specific set of circumstances" and comparable to New Zealanders being able to return from Queensland until Friday without going into managed isolation.

I'm going to bang the hi hat, they can lock me in my house, but they have to keep the rugby on for me to watch while they're doing it.

I'm absolutely gutted for a friend of mine. The Wellington test would have been the first ABs test ever she'd go to. Now, she'll have to wait at least another year.

Going by the WA border website - NZ is considered very low risk - i.e. quarantine is currently not required when travelling from NZ to WA - the issue is getting back to NZ.

Not trying to convince you, but I guess the way in Oz to look at it is these sports are businesses and business travellers appear to have been getting exemptions throughout the pandemic.

These are the refereeing appointments released so far. Nothing about the Perth test yet.

Amazing continuity! I don’t think they’ve gotten any better.

My instinct is that ABs will handle them.

By handle, I didn't mean get on top. But starting five of Joe/Codie/Nepo/Sam/Brodie will hold their own.

If they have PSDT and Thor back we may be under pressure a bit in loose forwards, albeit ours are faster.

Their inside backs are less dangerous than Wallabies.

If we can get some fast ball, I'd expect us to score some fives, whereas they'll be looking for threes, with maybe a maul try thrown in.
