The loosies gave me a horn so that’s something to be positive about. Reckon Jacobsen should start though. In the backs DMac has to be a bench player. He tries hard but it’s not what is required at the early stages. Doesn’t seem to be a good balance with RM either. Too much headless chickeness. Jordie is the better option imho. Not a huge fan of Havili but can give him time. Reiko on the wing was a highlight. Keep him there goddami.

      @mn5 😅 @His-Bobness is a Fern legend.

You know that guy at the bar who's been around forever who doesn't say much, but every word is gold. That's @His-Bobness.

Mounga clearly had a good game.

He kicked well and got a good intercept try. But in the first half he didn’t get us around the field, defended badly and again was hidden on the wing on defence.

Will bite us on the bum one day.

When we took him off it almost did bite us in the Bum, our attack ceased to exist.

Too many subs contributed to that, we started losing scrums and conceding lots of penalties.

        Bad coaching we had mometuem
RM, Akira were playing their best minutes ,and we take them off and give mometuem to the Aussies take, no vision by the coaching staff.

Yeah, this was very frustrating. Those two had really come into their own, and we were well in top. Don't make substitutions just for the sake of it.

Especially when they are two players only recently finding their feet at this level. Let them dominate and build confidence.

@sparky why because we dont play retarded 10 man boxkickathon shit like South Africa and the old enemy?

I think both teams have some great talent coming through and we will go well at the next RWC. Both teams packs to me seem like they can genuinely muscle up but also marry that with a bit of backline play.

Fuck it. Straya will never win at Eden Park but we put some good play together and if not for a loose 20 minutes and uncharacteristic goalkicking would've been right in it.

Good post. Fuck me if the Boks haven’t been built up to mythical proportions. That final win was incredibly impressive but they’re not the second coming of Christ some people seem to think they are.

@chris we also have a decent bench with guys like Uelese and Tupou coming on. Its alright to credit us with some shit.

I thought RM had a blinder going forward and a nightmare in defense. Tough one that.

Havili seems kinda average. One of the only positions in my view where the Aussie option clearly the better player (but needs to tidy up security in contact).

Numerous AB infringements in the 22 and no yellow with an all kiwi reffing team. Shock.

Edit: Sevu with a blinder supporting the AB selection policies of late.

That sums up Mo'unga's career to date. Seriously good on attack, but gets found wanting on defense. Also has been a bit if a possum in the headlights when the team is on the back foot.

Personally I would have liked to see him used off the bench more early in his career, he carves up against tired defenses and it would allow him to build confidence before being put in the box seat. Playing him at 10 at the RWC was a huge mistake when we had the experience of Beauden and Ben Smith to play 10/15. Such poor coaching, but I digress.

Put BB in there too, and that's three arsey plays minimum.

I'm sure the hot topic of conversation has been the impact of the bench, or lack of it. Not helped by who was actually on the bench. Trying to fit in all the Barretts as well as Mo'unga and DMac was always going to be a big mistake, particularly if JB ends up on the wing again. With injuries the decision on the back reserves were sort of forced on them.

In the forwards, Ta'avao and Tuipulotu are 3rd or 4th choice in their positions. The return of Ofa and S Barrett will help there.

I was disappointed in Ardie in this game. Easily the worst of the starting loose forwards. Whitelock has to take some responsibility for the poor discipline.

                      @no-quarter

ESPN has him with no tackles made, 1 tackle missed, and 1 turnover. Given that they choose to hide him, its a recipe for a good coach to exploit.

On the other hand, once he starts running, he’s lethal. But when he doesn’t, he’s not as good as either Dmac or Barret would be as they could defend at 10.

No tackles! Holy shit that tells a story in itself.

Went back and looked at that Mounga missed tackle and it wasn't as bad as being made out. He got caught in two minds whether to go for the ball or tackle and ended up in no man's land and was too late to go for the tackle.

Good post. Fuck me if the Boks haven’t been built up to mythical proportions.

Not playing anyone for a year will do that.

I don’t know. People were fapping on about them even before they pulled the pin last year.

Better to talk them up - if you lose, you were right, and if you win, you win.

Taylor's missed tackle was far worse.
