I remember the amazing chase back, tackle and turnover but that’s about it.

    that's the one highlight.

made errors, complete non-entity on attack.

    we lack a great fullback.

One kick out on the full, 3 turnovers conceded, and 11 total metres (2nd worst back by metres, I think).

He did apparently beat two defenders and get away one offload, plus that fantastic chase and tackle, but overall he was poor in his contributions.

Thanks for backing up the sentiment. The match thread didn’t seem to be too worried at the time.
As I said I didn’t recall him having a horror so was trying to understand the comment that he played himself out of the team.
To be honest though it wasn’t a game made for him. All of our tries were scored from 15 metres out. Just watched the highlights tape and in Reece’s second DMac drew two defenders to leave Sevu unmarked. In Jordan’s try he was running a second hole in case Jordan’s run didn’t get through and in the build up to another he took us from a static position to a metre out stepping through two defenders.
I agree that the position is still debatable just don’t see him as the worst option.

I with you Crucial, I didn't recall him being that bad, but if you got it in for a player it easy to just see bad things, and not the good.

I’m assuming Nepo Laulala is a pretty fucken amazing scrummager cos he’s even more Owen Franks than Owen Franks was with the ball in hand.

It is karma owed for not selecting his bro Casey often enough at centre?

The world is a classroom, and I just found out something today. Never knew they were related.

If our frontrow wasn't so average we would do that pack.

The ABs backs are a class or two up, IMO. If they all play to potential.

@machpants just two? Fucking Kellaway is on the wing.

Turns out I'm allowed to visit my mate because he's a loser and lives alone so, hopefully, I'll be too busy getting blind and playing Fifa to remember to watch this.

DO NOT like Ardie being used as a no.8 again.

He's not the best 8, not the best 7 and certainly not the best 6. It seems like the selectors hare terrified of being criticised on social media. He should be on the bench where given his athleticism he can make a real impact in any of those positions towards the final quarter of a match if required.

@antipodean It really is the truth. He's a bench player at test level. Wouldn't say no to him starting at 7 with Cane out, but he's not a proper 6/8 and never will be.

Four things I like about that team and three things I'm not so pleased about.

                                Really pleased:

                                1. Great to have Brodie back

                                2. Like that back row, especially Dalton Papali'i at 7. His form in Super Rugby was outstanding , hopefully he will carry that forward into Test Rugby. I'm glad Akira is being picked again at 6. Ardie is too good to leave out and has the versatility to play anywhere in the back row. Really strong unit with Jacobson just missing out.

                                3. That is our top midfield back and half back combination.

                                4. Delighted Reiko is back in the 11 Jersey.

                                Not pleased about:

                                1. I don't get George Bower's selection. Hasn't shown Test starter quality at scrum time or around the park.

                                2. Disappointed that Will Jordan hasn't been given the 14 Jersey. Is he injured?

                                3. I'd go with Jordie ahead of DMac at 15. Both need to concentrate on reducing their error rate rather than constantly trying miracle plays.

Overall, pleased to see the coaches reward most of the best players in NZ.

                                  1. Like that back row, especially Dalton Papali'i at 7.

He quietly put together a truly sensational Super season. Very very high quality, great to have him. He's put it on the track for the ABs as well, which is great.

Four things I like about that team and three things I'm not so pleased about.

                                    Really pleased:

                                    1. Great to have Brodie back

                                    2. Like that back row, especially Dalton Papali'i at 7. His form in Super Rugby was outstanding , hopefully he will carry that forward into Test Rugby. I'm glad Akira is being picked again at 6. Ardie is too good to leave out and has the versatility to play anywhere in the back row. Really strong unit with Jacobson just missing out.

                                    3. That is our top midfield back and half back combination.

                                    4. Delighted Reiko is back in the 11 Jersey.

                                    Not pleased about:

                                    1. I don't get George Bower's selection. Hasn't shown Test starter quality at scrum time or around the park.

                                    2. Disappointed that Will Jordan hasn't been given the 14 Jersey. Is he injured?

                                    3. I'd go with Jordie ahead of DMac at 15. Both need to concentrate on reducing their error rate rather than constantly trying miracle plays.

Overall, pleased to see the coaches reward most of the best players in NZ.

that interview. Has Foster had his COVID test?
Certainly didn't look too enthusiastic until he got started about how he learnt a lot about Olympic trampolining (at the end there). Not sure how he is going to sneak the trampolines out to the lineouts without being spotted, but you got to give him credit for thinking outside the circle, into a bigger circle.

Did you not read the title. Fosters name is right there.

Looking at the NPC refereeing appointments, no Fraser or Williams listed. O'Keeffe and Berry are in SA. Is Gardner fit now?
