@Kirwan Vaai is green but we can’t start with either Whitelick and BBBR. He has a year to get up to speed while another year with the geriatrics is more decline. We won’t win with those two as our locks.

Retallick is only 31, hardly geriatric stage. I think there’s some good footy left in him. Whitelock’s form has been pretty good this season, my only concern is health for him. But if fit he still offers more now than others.
I think they’ll rotate a bit this year. Barrett will be a key guy for us this year and if he can keep his head should take his game to the next level.

Not that impressed with the mid-fielders - Tuivasa-Sheck & Havili are not that big, both have very similar skill sets, with Havili having the advantage with his kicking game... other available options were the Umaga-Jensen brothers, thought Sullivan was playing bloody well, unfortunately missed the last 2 super rugby matches through injury.Halfbacks :
Perenara didn't deserve to make the squad, A.Smith is lucky to be there, the bloke is clearly past his best, Christie is just a solid type of 9... reckon our best two halfbacks are Weber & Fakatava... really impressed with Fakatava, he always plays with urgency & has an excellent passing & running game. -

I wish I could find all the early 2015 posts as examples of writing off that “geriatric” legend McCaw.
I would agree that those two require managing along with giving the young guys more time and that is likely to happen. I’m not writing them off just yet though -

@ACT-Crusader Injuries usually come with age and BBBR has been a shadow of himself. If and buts with injuries. Do you think we can win with this tandem in our back row next year?

I wish I could find all the early 2015 posts as examples of writing off that “geriatric” legend McCaw.
I would agree that those two require managing along with giving the young guys more time and that is likely to happen. I’m not writing them off just yet though -
I can see the ABs being very conservative for the first 5 tests (3 vs Ireland + 2 vs Boks) and then after that it could be all on depending on results.

We all know the excellent skill sets Aumua has, he's the closet we have to a Coles type of hooker... also a fair few in the squad haven't played that well in super rugby, but were still selected.
