Lawson problem looks in the head. After fresh tyres he should have finished 12-13th. He didn’t.

I think he will be back in RB either before or after Suzuka.

Confident he will stick around in f1, but I don’t think he was ready to be in the top team.

It was always going to be a big jump. If he gets swapped out it might be good for his confidence. Hopefully he keeps a seat

It's literally impossible to argue it's not fast enough to be in the top ten.

Lawson is definitely doing it tough. Suzuka will be a big chance for him, on a track he is very familiar with

The elephant in the room is Russell in the Merc out pointing Hamilton in the Ferrari. Has he blundered in swapping teams or is he simply on the decline?

Ferrari offered Lewis Hamilton £41 million a year to switch. No one else was going to offer a 40 year driver that much. It will be a nice little earner before he retires in three or four years time.

He's just changed teams. He seems to be having teething issues with the car. Give him some time. I know it's not a GP, but he did win a sprint race already

With the disqualification LL up to 12th, at this rate LL will endup winning.
Rumors already that they are swapping him with Yuki before Japan, which might actually be a good thing for Liam.

If they turned out to be true, I would think LL should welcome switching to what would appear to be a far more forgiving car

Doesn't sound all too happy with his race engineer either.

Leclerc having a lighter car might explain the extra pace.

Yeah, Lewis snaps at him a lot. Might be a change there at some point soon. I recall LH telling him to stop talking last weekend. Then in China he's asking him why he isn't giving him more information. Poor bastard can't win

For you and me, well, I'm presuming in your case, £41M would be a hell of an incentive but for Hamilton, with his wealth, having a shot at another title and eclipsing Schumacher would possibly be a bigger incentive?

Talks of Yuki replacing Lawson in the Red Bull seat as early as Japan. If this happens, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Lawson then easily beats Yuki. I feel like it's the car and not so much the driver but so many comments on social media slandering Lawson, mostly coming from Checo fans.

Take off the eye patches people. A gap this size between two drivers isn't acceptable, and isn't entirely down to the car. Either the pressure is getting to Lawson or he's found his ceiling (plenty of other drivers have made it to a top team and been found out).

I hope it is just the pressure and he gets a bit more time to figure it out, but red bull are pretty ruthless. It's a shame checo cost them the constructors championship last year, I think that will make them must less patient than they would otherwise have been.

You can't ignore the trend that all drivers that have jumped into that second seat at Red Bull have struggled. Something tells me it's not just the driver, but yes, Lawson needs to be better. Will he get that chance? Maybe, maybe not.

This is a valid point. If you look at other teams that have been dominant over the years (save perhaps Benneton), they have not had that huge gap. No2 driver has usually been up in the points. Red Bull seem to not value their No2 driver or maybe just prefer to fellate their No1.

It's odd that in 2022-23 they were so dominant, with Perez and Max killing it. Something has gone wrong design wise to a point where even Verstappen doesn't like it. Sort of reminds me of Team NZ and the failed HULA experiment. Designers going down a blind end and losing sight that it should ultimately be a driver's car

I know with a reasonable degree of certainty, that it is most certainly a lot to do with the car
