We had the foot on their throat, but took it off by losing too many wickets over a short time - what was dG thinking with that idiotic run out ? then Jamieson plays completely down the wrong line to a pretty straight ball etc... now it's really crucial we get very early wickets in the first session tonight to give us a crack at getting back into the game.

Yeah, we especially need to get rid of Root early before he gets his eye in... we were disappointing in our home test series, now we put in a shite performance in this 1st test against the poms... also got to wonder about the fitness of Williamson, for such a class batsman he's batted poorly in both innings.

What I’m potentially worried about is KW having the sort of decline that Ponting, Tendulkar and Dravid had towards the end of their respective careers. I hope he avoids this as he’s surely got quite a few good years left

It's going to take a miracle morning session for us to win this. England have enough batting to finish us off, and the target is so close that tail enders like Broad could smash a small deficit to win

Why his fitness? That's just weird. He's been back training and playing for ages now.
He's lacking form for sure (and was during IPL) but the time out from his elbow means he is scratching to get some flow back. He's class, it will come.
His elbow isn't rooted, it was a tendon thing that needed time to fully recover.Apart from all of that we are fucked barring a collapse of a similar level to the one we had.
