It’s just awesome on his excuse matrix though, like cards, and Argentina ‘surprising’ us. The knobjockey

Where does the buck stop? Obviously before the coaching staff

The stupidest thing about the foster selection was that his only credential was having worked under Hansen. Hansen was a great coach but should have gone after the lions.

Robertson + Schmidt + O gara would be tidy (o gara is locked I to La Rochelle I think). Otherwise a bit of Joseph and Browne into the mix.

Win/win this weekend would be ABs winning and Foster getting the sack!

its not an excuse though, as i said, other coaches are handling it and the rest of us do in the real world, its part of the job now and he's not doing it well

It takes some chutzpah to complain that you were dudded in the refereeing when you compare Dalton's perfectly legitimate penalty and Lowe's coat hanger.

Kinda like Stuart McGill (hypothetically) being told you're a shit Shane Warne, or Mark Waugh being told he's not the best cricketer in his family.

Not the worst insult to receive.

@antipodean and the drop he made immediately prior to the coathanger, is mentioned in the article, but not the coathanger...

If the sledge is true, the schoolyard response should've been delivered; "true, but I'm still better than you"

‘Highlander’ on The Roar sums up the situation nicely:

“This All Black side is playing with zero control, everything looks hurried, trying to score every time they get the ball and not playing the longer game of building pressure until your opposition cracks.

“We all saw in the Super Rugby Pacific final which model works the best. The Razor Robertson constrictor model choked the very life out of the hit-and-run Blues side, but at international level, the All Black coaching team chooses to ignore basic tenets and revert to the Helter Skelter model as their default. It may well work on occasion, but it sure is not the way to be a consistently successful international rugby team.

“If a board of directors were analysing the performance of their CEO and executive management team, now would be the time to take serious action. We have a Rugby World Cup only 16 matches away so now is the time for root-and-branch cuts in the coaching, strategy and playing staff of this All Black organisation.”

@Crazy-Horse i think the argument is he may have seen his support was being tackled and not passed, in which case you cant "punish" ireland for playing to the whistle, you have to boil it down to first principles,

tackled without the ball ? yes.....if that tackler wasn't there is there a clear overlap and no cover? yes

The result next weekend is irrelevant. No improvement, no growth in 3 years. No plan. A board meeting is necessary.

Sam should have retorted that at least he has played in a RWC final and has the winners medal to prove it.

@Bovidae said in All Blacks v Ireland - 2nd Test:

Sam should have retorted that at least he has played in a RWC final and has the winners medal to prove it.

                                        Yeah nah I'd ignore it

Has Foster said anything about why he replaced an in form Ardie? And not replaced Dalton? In my opinion this was another one of his brain explosions. Has he been questioned? He may have been but I missed it.
