"An incredible performance and result from the ABs in an incredibly hostile stadium - we're delighted for the team and management after the last few weeks of adversity," says Robinson.
"We're proud of them, it was really a critical moment in the development of this team."
"The main priority is to get everyone home. Then we take stock, meet with management as soon as we can, and debrief how the tour went."
"We'll be making no further comment until that time which will likely be the middle or latter of the week coming up"
"We've been having conversations right through this time with Foz. We believe we know where we stand, just have to work that through with him."
“There's a huge amount of passion and speculation, we appreciate that, we need time to work that through.”
“Serious conversations with players are private and we don't comment on them,” says Robinson. “We'll take stock, we'll comment later in the week.”
Robinson confirms that any discussions on Ian Foster's future will include the New Zealand Rugby board. The timing on those discussions is still yet to be determined.
“The appointment of the coach is the board's responsibility, management provides insight, we will provide that to them.”
Robinson does not wish to comment on Scott Robertson's reported 'stand by' status and the potential of Robertson taking over the All Blacks.
"We've not got that far advanced," says Robinson on whether he has a recommendation to take to the board. He'll discuss that over the next few days.
"They've been through an awful lot. To win under such adversity, was really pleasing. Any aspect of that performance is considered going into this week's discussions," says Robinson.
“We're trying our best to keep people informed the best we can. The reality is that there's only so much we can say right now.”
“We're wrapping huge amounts of support around our people at this time. We understand, especially with …. social media, we do need to support our people.”
Robinson confirms there are no plans to bring in any outside advisors.
Robinson stressing that New Zealand Rugby do not wish to make any formal decisions while the team are away from home and family.
“I'm really pleased for Ian, really pleased he can reflect and enjoy a result like that with his team around him.”
“We've supported the coach throughout and that support remains. We just need to understand what the next steps are with this management team.”
“It's not about one individual, we're looking right across the performance environment,” Robinson says about the discussions that will be taking place next week.
"Ultimately it will be the board's decision."
Robinson doesn’t believe there's any disconnect between New Zealand Rugby headquarters and the team.
“We have really good dialogue, we're working really hard together to make sure the team has everything it needs to be successful. We only want the best for them and that's what we're working towards right now.”
“We could have handled things differently across the board following the Irish result. We want to be open and transparent, that's why we're here today,” says Robinson, referring to the cancelled press conference after the third test defeat.

And that is all we have today from Mark Robinson.
The key point - New Zealand Rugby will not make a decision about Ian Foster's future as All Blacks coach until the team get home next week.
At that stage, there will be discussions with the management team before insight will be provided to the NZ Rugby board who will make the final decision.:

Haha, I was thinking that too. Slightly over dramatic. I’m sure first class have enough seats.

No doubt Foster stays as coach they are hardly going to sack him a week out from the Argentine test. Why don't they just say that instead of Fucking around.

What the flying fuck is rolling around in Robinson's head? This press conference is entirely unnecessary and should've waited until they got home. Right now a potato would be a more attractive proposition as CEO.

@taniwharugby so over all this fucking around and grasping at straws to get a bit more time. He could have said (last week) that the coach is a board appointment/decision and they are collecting info etc to support a decision in the future. If we'd lost last night it's almost certain Foster was gone, so now they want to follow a process?

what a cluster fuck utter shambles. has not helped anything with speculation. your in south africa would have been incompetence to sack foster there so you either backed him or say nothing. been takein PR from labour a announcement of a announcement. this does not help the players going forward if they dont know who is coaching them one week to the next

Actually it’s the CEO who should be sacked and whoever is advising him. What a clown show

Didn’t see it but sounds like it was straight out of Jacindas handbook. Having a press conference to say there is nothing to say?

                        Just for a little perspective.

Foster coached the Chiefs with the following results.
In the 2004 Super 12 season, 7 wins from 11 games with 274 points for and 251 against. Placed 4th on the table. The Chiefs lost their semifinal 17-32 to the Brumbies, the eventual champions, at Canberra Stadium.
2005, 5 wins and a draw from 11 games with 272 points for and 250 against. Placed 6th.
2006, 7 wins and a draw from 13 games with 325 points for and 298 against. Placed 7th.
2007, 7 wins and a draw from 13 games with 373 points for and 321 against. Placed 7th.
2008, 7 wins from 13 games with 348 points for and 349 against. Placed 7th.
2009, 9 wins from 13 games with 338 points for and 236 against. Placed 2nd. The Chiefs beat the Hurricanes 14-10 in a home semi-final and then lost 17-61 to the Bulls in the final at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, Pretoria.
2010, 4 wins and a draw from 13 games with 340 points for and 418 against. Placed 10th.
2011, 6 wins and a draw from 18 games with 332 points for and 348 against. Placed 5th in the New Zealand conference and 10th overall.

Scott Robertson has won the Super rugby title six times and the NPC title three times.

                        Prediction:
After "intensive review" and "extensive consultation with all stakeholders" they decide to keep Foster. Foster will say all the right things at all the right times to all the right people. Because one thing he is good at, is keeping his job despite absolute mediocrity.

Have added a few more of the live updates to my post. A lot being said, but nothing concrete. Probably adding fuel to all the 'inside knowledge' Tweets doing the rounds about Scott Robertson being on standby.

                          Right on cue:

                                  They have 3 options

                                  1. fire foster
                                  2. confirm foster for RC then another review
                                  3. keep foster

I find it hard to get excited about yesterday as I can’t convince myself the corner is turned. More think it’s a false dawn.

The latter has eroded the former in the last 3 years

NZR will likely keep him on now and evaluate after the next 4 games. Not a good look if he is sacked now after a VG win and only 2 games with a new coaching team

This win will save him for now

“He has been under a lot of pressure, and I know Foz (Foster) doesn’t want to make it about himself, but I just want everyone to know that all the players have got his back. He’s a great coach, he’s got great coaches beside him, and we back him 100 percent. I hope everyone that reads this backs us because we are going to get it.”
Asked if Foster deserved to stay in charge, Savea’s response: “Like I said, he’s my coach. That’s it.”
