Make the big teams also have short turnarounds as well
Thr other problem is, especially with these kick off times, I will watch less minnow games.

Possible Unpopular Opinion
The tournament suffers as a spectacle by only having games on the weekend.
Not at all unpopular to me.
Can easily fit in mid week games.
Tournament is dead for a week.
At least next week there’s a Thursday match. So it’s just Tuesday & Wednesday off
I think bye weeks kill the momentum more. After the AB’s play Namibia they have 2 weeks off before Italy
Bye week us related.
If they had mid weekend they wouldn't have a bye.

Jeez I hate auto correct.
Happy to sound/read like I'm drunk when I am... but I'm not at 12 noon on a week day. Usually.
Hope you all could interpret...

There’s no easy answer without increasing the number of teams. Otherwise we are back to minnows getting 3 days between matches.

But they sorted that last time. All teams got the storm week.

@MN5 Interesting. Australia with more players (4) in that list than SA (1).
NZ's sole representative is a back up at the moment, though I'm sure his time will come in the next 4 years.
I wonder how many of the players listed currently play or recently played in the French Top 14?

Fat is not necessarily good

I'm glad there are no mid-week games. With the time difference, it's hard enough to watch some live and keep up with the rest. Add more games (or with fewer days in-between), and it will be near impossible to watch the majority of games.

Mid week games would be at a reasonable time over breakfast, but might make you who live in NZ late for work ...
The vibe just dies for the most part of the week
-
We've gone from one extreme to the other with the space between games. 7 am NZT is a decent time but apart from the SA-Scotland game, which I recorded, I haven't watched any of the other games.
-
You know you don't have to watch all them live?
-
@booboo The comment was made that 7am is a decent time, so I assumed that was about watching live.
I need evenings during the week to catch up with the games I couldn't watch live during the weekend. If you add games during the week, I simply don't have the time to watch the majority of them.

That depends on how late people have to leave home for work (if you're talking about games on work days).
@Stargazer Yes, I'm referring to Sat and Sun mornings for us. One advantage of recording a game was that I could FF through all stoppages and kicks at goal, and for this RWC there is a lot of them.
-
@Stargazer.
I can't keep up, and won't. Haven’t scheduled time to watch sa v Scotland, only seen bits of Wal v Fij ... and trying to catch the replay.
But the story dies when there's no rugby.
And you don't have to watch them all, or watch them all live. Just enjoy the story.
In 2007 I recall following matches on TSF that were on while I was at work. (Don't tell work ... )
Ireland v Georgia for example.
SA v Tonga another.
It was exciting, but don't think I ever saw the replays..
They need to fill in the gaps.

Na they have two.
I woulda thought Etzebeth was heavier than RG Snyman but then again these stats are very inaccurate. Not like fighting sports where they weigh in a day or two prior to the event.
@NTA sure has some tubby lads in his team.

given how busy my weekends are, I'd love a Wednesday or Thursday morning game I could watch at 5am - obviously not the marquee games, but would be awesome to get up and onto the bike trainer to watch a second tier match like the AB's v Namibia, or Wales v Fiji (teasing Mike, teasing!)

Stats eh?!!
That Fijian bloke hit 39 of their own rucks in 1 game, that's pretty good heat...

I don't expect an ex prop to worry about that!
