Four different schools from last year.

The SF games will be Chiefs vs Hurricanes, and Blues vs South Island (played on Friday).

The Top 4 semis are this afternoon. First up is Hamilton BHS v Feilding HS, followed by Kelston BHS against Nelson College. Nelson College is the only unbeaten school of the four so are probably the overall favourites.

Livestreams on Whakaata Māori for those that are interested.

        Hamilton BHS - 23 - 19 Feilding HS
        Kelston BHS 18 - 26 Nelson College

Both SFs were close. FAHS lost the ball over the line late which would have given them a lead with the score at 20-19. HBHS started well into a strong wind by scoring 3 early tries but FAHS dominated up front after that. It didn't help that HBHS lost three forwards before HT. Too many handling errors in the 2nd half by the forwards so the backs had few chances. Nelson looked slick and will be the favourites in the final.

            3rd/4th
            Feidling HS 35 - 32 Kelston BHS

            Final
            Hamilton BHS 27 - 17 Nelson College

I'll have to watch a replay but it sounds like the HBHS midfield had big games. They are the two players who I think have the best chance of making the NZS squad. Nelson's first loss of the year.

Bloody hell, even in their not so good years Hamilton can win the Top 4. Congrats to them.

Is Willi Heinz finally retiring? He is one of the new 1st XV co-coaches for CBHS.

@Bovidae The rumour going round is that he is going back to repeat Year 13 so he might just be the Player Coach!

Dane Johnston, the Feilding High School TH prop, and Bradley Tocker, Palmerston North Boys’ High School's NZ Schools lock-flanker have been signed by Taranaki in conjunction with the Chiefs. Johnston wasn't wanted by the Hurricanes.

Westlake is also at the World Schools Festival. They are in the same pool as Paul Roos Gym.

If anyone cares I'm also here at World Schools with Papakura High School. We aren't a "rugby school" but we were invited through some connections. We're competing in an open comp which has 2 invititational teams and Paul Roos 2nd XV.

We were also out supporting the other 2 Auckland teams and both made their games look easy, Kelston are very good.

I wonder why Xavier Leota from Kelston was playing in the Global 7s on the weekend and not for Kelston at the World Schools?

                                          They did.

I watched the Kelston game. Really like Aio Keith's game, just into everything, with the added benefit of polished lineout work. Baleinaikasakasa looks a real handful in the carry as well. Scrummaging might need a little work, though.
