A thread for the login issues. This thread is visible to people who aren't logged in
Some people are having inconsistent behaviour when trying to login. Working on one device but not on another etc
There seems to be two solutions.
First clear the browser cache
This isn't working for everyone but some people have reported this works
Second, double check the url
On the login screen make sure the url is https://forum.silverfern.rugby/login
Sometimes it's sending users to https://www.forum.silverfern.rugby/loginRemove the 'www.' and it should let you in
This is a misconfiguration somewhere from when the url changed
If something else worked for you post it below
second one seeems to have fixed my issue thanks

Mobile Chrome spat the dummy for me. Have had to push Samsung net on phone.

so has the new (now old) link broken too? so there's a new new link (is the one above?)
-
I'm good on mobile, and the link above https://forum.silverfern.rugby/login works on laptop - all on Chrome

Just make sure the login url doesn't have www. at the beginning

I did update my email and I thought it said it would send a confirmation email, that I havent received?

Windows Chrome login is fine.
Had problems on Chrome Android on phone & tablet - sometime able to login, sometimes not. Needed to clear cookies on both and all worked OK since. Assume Chrome was synching bad cookies?

Not a cookie issue. The session details get stored and the format of that has been inconsistent
It’s a hangover from the url change

I have been unable to log in under my usual name
What exactly happens? You logout out of this account you put in 'Crazy Horse' and your password, then what happens.. is there an error?
It tells me my login credentials are wrong. For a while there it wouldn't let me request a new password, then when I could get a new password I followed the instructions and ended up letting me on with my old username. I have since requested another new password using Crazy Horse and followed the steps, but I still get the same message telling me my credentials are wrong. And the new password works with this username.
Would it have something to do with me using the same email address for both usernames?
On a side note, I haven't said it enough, but thanks for the effort you put in to running this site.

Haha well that's screwed up. The sooner we get to a fresh install on the new server the better.. I have no idea what would cause that
I'll message you about a new password
