The NRL regularly put the Warriors head to head with the big Super game of the week and scheduled a final for the same time as an AB test. They're as dumb as each other.

absolutely it all comes down to who owns broadcasting rights and what matters for them.
However given a bledisloe cup is now 9 (and likely Aus a good shot this year) and channel 9 have right to NRL grand final, I would actually expect they would play it differently this year.
Every other game though Fox wouldn't give a shit given they have no broadcast rights to rugby and would do what they did only a couple of weeks ago

What else is there to do in Melbourne? Attend a protest, get macheted? At least attending a sporting fixture you're reducing the odds of being present during a home invasion.

@mohikamo Not that far back surely. The one in SA when it was do or die time for Fozzie was the most compelling since then. Or any of the games vs Ireland. Most interesting Bledisloe for a long, long time though.

Thought we had to make significant changes after 2015.
2015 was clearly the last hurragh for that style of play; going back as far 1995.
Successive coaches have tried to stick with a style of play that has become more and more ineffective against the serious opposition. Kind of a boring and predictable watch.
The "aura" has just been slowly slipping, slipping, slipping . . .Hansen was Henry II (which was ok), and Foster was just Henry III (which was not ok), and Robertson is starting to look like Henry IV (which is very much not ok!)
What we need now is something like Henry I !
When Henry came in after Mitchell he had carte blanche.
We've been needing some carte blanche since 2015, and we might get it tomorrow.
And if we lose, then we'll definitely get it. -

We are actually winning 5/6 categories, except those are the ones you do not want to win. When was the last era or time the AB's made so few metres and line breaks. This clearly shows Razor simply does not want to have the ball and its kick away at all costs. I never thought I would see the day that the ABs were scared to attack and had no penetration.
Our attacking shape would suggest otherwise. We have successfully set up quite a few phases where we have created space and had players out wide to take advantage of it.
Except on too many occasions there has been a kick that doesn’t go with what’s on offer.
@ACT-Crusader given our DNA has always been heads up, click counter attack rugby and or dominant forward carry’s then everything about the numbers tells the story re tactics, player selection. The gloss is well and truely off this coaching team. Big weekend.

Is it NZR's job to allow a few Victorians to catch a passing glimpse of a game they're not interested in, and are never going to be, or to provide a better experience for their own fans and local kids who are never going to watch a game they're not interested in?

Basically when the game was set, I pretty sure noone from NZR would have a clue there a final for AFL on at same time, and I bet RA just forgot. Noone online have even realised until the last month. -

It would fit with the pattern - one good performance and then an absolute shit one. Can't figure out if we're bouncing along the bottom or it's just teething problems with a game-plan now into it's second year.
At least Robertson hasn't been panicked into making wholesale changes and is giving players like BB time to familiarise themselves with the new environment......
