This may go unnoticed by the in-fighting around AB selection. From what I've seen - most Ferners/NZers will start watching the game with zero knowledge of who "we"'re playing against... but all manner of outrage around our team.
I'd like to make an informed comment on that team but... I'm frankly no better.

Cobber is giving the young fella a start at flyhalf and gone back to an experienced hand to start at scrum half with the other young fella who played most of the match last week, remaining as the reserve scrum half. No change to the inside centre and outside centre combination.

A forced change on the left wing with the other outside backs the same.

Who both play at the Waratahs, it should be noted. Maybe that's a cohesion thing?

On paper, the Aus forwards look far better than their NZ counterparts, at least in the second row, the loose forwards and on the bench. I don't predict an All Blacks' win, even if the Wallabies look poor at halfback and 1st Five.

Holland paying the price for his tendency to ruck watch when the heat comes on, instead of getting eyes up when realigning? Aussie caught him out easy with one of their tries and I seem to recall this happening before too.

Presume that is because of utility value rather than form. I think the change they need to make is the backline coach. Playing a 2nd at centre is risky. Hope he goes well but smacks of desperation rather than a plan.

What’s the alternative? Proctor has been poor so he appropriately gets dropped. Tupaea is the next cab off the rank but J Barrett is probably the second best player in this team and it’s not really an option to drop him. Tupaea has played 13 plenty of times and Ioane is there to cover if it turns to shit. I’m not sure what the alternative is given we don’t have another 13 in NZ that’s any good

I've got to be honest, I can't see any "bold" selections.

More along the lines of "forced by injury" and "stupid"

Massive underwhelming selections in the forwards. I expect Wilson and the rest of the Wallabies pack to have a blinder against us.

Our selectors are the worst I can recall.

Hopefully Roigard can continue his great form from last week.

Definitely. Now that winning the Bledisloe is out of the equation, I think it’s good that Schmidt is giving another 10 test experience.

Especially as I think we need to thank JOC for his time and bid him farewell. Need to work hard on the stock we have onshore and use overseas only as a backup

Skelton will be a big plus, will be interesting to see how long he plays for.

I thought we did a decent job and preventing the likes of McReight and Hooper from getting turnover ball which they are both very good at. But their forward attack was able to make metres because of bodies in motion.

Anyway, not a lot of excitement over selections is there really, it kind of feels like another AB/Wallaby test but without much on it. Realistically the Boks got RC tied up, Bled is tied up, so we getting a trot in the park??

I still hold out some hope that the Boks have been hanging out at London pubs all week and the Argies pull out a massive effort to scrape a win.

Well they still have to win otherwise they would have a 50% record in RC for the second year in a row. If they win this one they can claim a small improvement from last year with 66.7% win record this year and 58% win record in RC matches for Combover's regime overall.

How good does 58% look? So much better than 50%.

Cobber is giving the young fella a start at flyhalf and gone back to an experienced hand to start at scrum half

Who both play at the Waratahs, it should be noted. Maybe that's a cohesion thing?

Definitely. Now that winning the Bledisloe is out of the equation, I think it’s good that Schmidt is giving another 10 test experience.

Arguably the same could be said for NZ, although happy for DMac is it maybe an opportunity for Ruben missed?

Hollands had some stinking moments around the ruck defensively. He’s definitely the fourth best lock so not sure why it’s a mistake? Barrett gets his starting position back, and quite rightly after the complete lack of aggression last week. Va’ai is still the form lock despite a recent dip. Patty T provides more impact off the bench.

Had to ask if I was having my leg pulled… hope I’m not so apologies in advance if it isn’t correct. Usual contact so have no reason to believe it isn’t correct. Maybe I’m just a little surprised due to a certain name on the wing(which should bring some interesting opinions).
