I think Blake Gibson spent some of his childhood in Kamo. I wonder if he'll consider going to Northland too.
I remember Ian Jones mentioning that he went to school with his mum and that she was known as a good athlete up there.
@dice no idea about Gibson, Ioane's grand parents in Kaikohe...
Gibson would be a decent catch, as he might get time (if he doesnt break) whereas Ofa is there largely in name only, but is great for the marketing, development, off field stuff if he cant ever pull the jersey on.
BUt hey, am sure we all have links/ties to somewhere if we dig enough

Can’t see it happening too often but a back row of Taulani, Papalii and Sotutu sounds pretty good to me.
Tanielu Teleʻa also signed for Counties
@chris what's with this mass exodus from Auckland rugby?
Hopefully Salesi Rayasi comes back home to Wellington.
-
@snowy We just want to bring our boys home, where they belong. I'll be generous: you can keep Ruru.

This from the Herald a few weeks back.I am sure there are some Auckland ferners who are closer to this will have more info.
A revolt could eventuate at Auckland Rugby.
A review into the provincial side and subsequent feedback from senior Blues management, has allegedly led to the resignation of assistant coach Filo Tiatia and the potential exodus of headline All Blacks.
The Herald reports discontent within the Auckland squad has seen several All Blacks, including Blues number eight Hoskins Sotutu and prop Ofa Tu’ungafasi, approach rival unions.
Fellow All Blacks Caleb Clarke, Akira Ioane and flanker Blake Gibson are understood to be among others weighing their futures with the province.
