    Brutal week. Dolphins fire McDaniel

Reckon it was Miami ringing Harbaugh's agent?

I remember Miami went hard after his brother Jim Harbaugh when he was leaving Stanford to come to the NFL the first time around.

McDaniel back to 49ers as an assistant coach next year?

With Kyle calling plays I guess they don't need an OC

Trae young Traded to Washington for fucking nothing.

    oof

People (e.g., Marks) were saying that Atlanta might have needed to sweeten it with a pick or swap!

Washington have scored here IMO, they'll have a guy who can share it around to their young players and will get fans in, and they have to use the money given the minimum spend for the cap.

If Washington now gets a high draft pick, it could finally help turn them around...

CJ will be thrilled about excaping WSH, although I'm not sure ATL is that much of an upgrade

@canefan its going back a couple of years, but when the Drua played here in Whangarei, the Drua fans were great, signing, dancing, was a great atmosphere, but NZ grounds seem to prefer to play shitty music and kept playing it over the top of the crowd creating that faux ambience.

Rugby has no idea how to provide a quality entertainment product, and that starts with the game on the pitch (I'm referring to test footy more than SR). The NH seem less discerning and more loyal, NZ crowds the opposite

There is a major difference between rugby supporters and rugby league supporters in Auckland. If you go to a Wahs game you can yell and scream and you fit right in. Try that at an NPC game at Eden Park and you might even get told to hush a bit. It happened to me years ago, crazy

Dan54 to me has a similar viewpoint to the average club rugby fan in the UK. Enjoy the game, support the team regardless of their results and standing. Most NZ rugby fans aren't like that for some reason. They have other distractions to occupy their time

John Harbaugh is one of the best coaches in the league and most of the teams in the league should be thinking about hiring him.

They probably felt they needed a change, but I'm not sure Lamar can take that team all the way

he will have one by the end of the week, hos choice.

Interestingly his agent said he has already fielded calls from 7 organisations. There are currently 7 open positions, including teh one he was just fired from. Someone may be looking at an upgrade.

Sounds like an Andy Reid situation. He could go on to greater things with a strong organisation and a well drafted QB. He won't need to take a chance on a shitty job, only quality franchises need apply

Funny how Jason Wilcox is a main player at man united.

Was most known for being a winger at Blackburn in his playing days, never would have picked him to be someone who went into the coaching/admin side of things.

It's funny how the most random of people (in all sports) end up in positions of power. People you would least suspect based in their playing career.

Great players generally don't make great managers or GMs

SF couldn't overcome Seattle, they could have really done with a week off to lick their wounds. I'm not sure they can. Overcome Philly, the defence is just too banged up to be able to stop anyone

@canefan whilst I (obviously) disagree with Mariner's assertion, and I agree with you on kids bball being torture now - I can't hate Steph for it. He's a joy to watch, clearly the best shooter of all-time by a significant margin, and by all accounts a great guy.

He's just also the guy who showed we misunderstood the math 🤷

Don't mistake my opinion for lack of admiration. The guy is a freak

    Hot take:

Steph Curry is the greatest player of the last 15 years and this is his era. Casual go-ahead logo threes at 37 are just nothing now.

Changed the game like few have in history. Won.

Totally ruined school boy basketball. I don't enjoy kids jacking up high volumes of 3s when they can barely hit them at 10%

Ardie allegedly difficult? So why did they not drop him? Hoskins allegedly lazy, then he won SR and was player of the year, so why didn't they try him? Dalton allegedly won't play for the ABs while Razor is coach. Panadol and Holland both leave, Leon allegedly had difficulties with the coaching setup. Where there's smoke surely there's fire right?

I think Razor was always up against it , no matter how well he did. The nth island journos hammer him on everything.

I know @Duluth refuted this point already but it bears repeating, this is fucking nonsense. The media kissed him on the dick constantly and even now he's got a team of journos running defence for him.

Also, when you did spend time here, you would have noticed that Razor had pretty much broad support from all the posters of here who think too highly of ourselves when he was first chosen to be the coach.

There was a lot to agree with in the original post. But the idea that Razor was up against the media from day one just shows what flag is pinned to chchfanatic's mast. Pure fiction that

I make no 2 ways about it, I support Razor (because he AB coach, even if not one I wanted), but I certainly agree to say Razor was up against it in media, someone read different media to me.

I think you will find everyone on here wants him to succeed. But that is different from believing he's just not up to it. I'm waiting for Razor to prove me wrong

Robert Van Rooyen circle jerk for ya

Crusaders circle jerk with Knowler there alongside him although Knowler was playing the (only) slightly more balanced role in the exchange.

    Takeaways:

    • Mo'unga was finally coming right after 50 tests when he took the Yen and ran.
    • Everything was BB's fault.
    • The assistant coaches are all good because they once made the Crusaders backline "hiss".
    • Barrett is fine despite the fact he needs to play better and tidy up his discipline which has been shit all career.
    • Razor doesn't have the cattle but also the team makes too many unforced errors and they'd threaten the Boks without those (so wait we do have the cattle?)
    • The most important thing it the ABs are peaking in 2027 (fuck off, we're not a RWC only team).

They've done that with the ABs backline too in that they hiss while they're deflating.

You'd think these 2 fanboy 'journos' would have gotten the message that Super Rugby and Test Rigby are worlds apart by now.

Regular Show is wonderful, used to enjoy watching it with my boys.

But to address your point, Ardie Savea made quite a number of World Teams of the year so that should tell you all you need to know.

    A great highlights reel player.

Has someone put together a highlights reel for him for 2025?

Has someone put together a lowlights reel of him walking on defence, refusing to hit rucks and being miles away from where he’s required? I’m only semi-joking here - it’d be interesting to see the reaction from fans who only watch highlights.

They'd just call it fake news
