The conversations will have been going on for some time and who is and who isn’t available known before the sacking.
What is not negotiable is that it had to happen and Kirky running the ship means it will be done well.

@MN5 one of the biggest disappointments of :2025.
After Raxor got us excited by describing him as intimidating it was a big letdown to see him looking like Tarzan but playing like Jane.

We do not need a long list of names, we just need the right men.

Some of the speculation on here and elsewhere seems unnecessary and distracts from what has happened and what had to happen.
The ABs were going nowhere, if not backwards, and Razor apparently was unable to convince them that he had the answers.
So much at stake here and that is what prompted the board to do what they have done.
I am trusting that Kirk, Mealamu and Tricker have got it right and we will emerge from this a stronger team.

Got me baffled too but might go some way to explaining why we have been so shit in the second half under this regime.
The halftime chats give them all headspin.

We have been pretty much treading water since around 2017 and we all had high hopes that change was coming from 2024.
What has happened though, in my view, is that we have gone backwards and seen things that I thought I would never see.
Most disturbing to me is the acceptance of mediocrity that so many scribes, punters, players and coaches have tried to ram down our throats.
This is why what David Kirk said on Thursday excites me.
He wants to bring Aura back, baby.

David Kirk when asked if it was too risky making a change this late in the cycle replied with " no, we felt it was too risky not to make a change now"

A brave move by the board and the right move.

To Europe hopefully where the standard of the game is tougher than the rugby in Japan.

@brodean I reckon Scott's injury will linger into next week and then there will be a new squad announced for the Northern tour which he will not be able to go on due to needing more time for his shoulder to fully heal.
He will therefore do what is best for the team and stay home.
