The fact we are still tossing Rieko's name around "cos of his defense" .. sums up the issues we have in midfield for me.

Ikitau and Suaalii are far better and more complete midfielders and create so many opportunities for the outsides... we simply have no center's standing up and demanding to be picked at least not any with a complete game on both defense and offense.

The only caveat to this is -- I don't recall any midfielders looking good outside BB or Dmac in recent years.

Well done Canada - the better team regardless of the officiating in my opinion.

I'd venture the breakdown would be looking more even and likely a cover tackle or two would have been made.....but still BFs looking very much 2nd best.

Even if we miraculously get through this game ... simply can't see them competing with the Poms.. let alone with the home crowd willing them on.

One thing I have noticed that seems to be the same in the NZ women's and men's teams is that we have no where near the level of communication with the ref - no leadership in the refs ear asking the questions - we let other teams create the "narrative" unchallenged

Wow -- that Canadian clean out so far from the side and nothing....... have to concede the officiating is looking a little bias

But the scoreboard is what it is due to us not being good enough

Whoever is constantly screaming is doing my head in already... maybe even more than Itoje does

Problem is when we don't have the ball its way to easy for the Canadians
