Archer knocks Weatherald over second ball. Dunno what the umpire thought there? Pitching outside leg? Looked pretty good to me - but, partly because he fell over!

I'd thought outside leg live too, but was a good 'un.

Stokes gone. Australia far too good for England.

Brook will get a hundred and the tail will wag to make things competitive.

    Lol nar

    That’s why I don’t gamble.

Oh, and your Rugby team is shit 😉

Mitchell Starc's 7-58 is the best ever opening innings for Australia in the opening game of an Ashes series.

I'm not a big fan of Mark Waugh's commentary when Oz are giving us one of their regular reamings, he can be pretty harsh and abrasive.

But, he's probably just about the most astute commentator going around.

He’s probably not even the best commentator in his family

I see the keeper Smith got 33 off only 22. Fucken hell, Bazball til they die…..surely a more sensible approach was needed ?

@MN5 I've got a feeling Steve would be at least as harsh.

Getting out to a shit shot at a crucial time, with the Waugh twins waiting for you in the dressing room - you'd probably be best to walk off on the other side of the ground, hail a cab, and go home!

England were bowled out in 32.5 overs. It was the shortest first innings in an Ashes Test in Australia since 1902.

Oz could very easily have a first inning lead at the end of the day at this rate although these two are batting at glacial pace compared to England so far.

Based on how the English are bowling they could be all out by the end of the day too. I can't remember a more interesting first day where a team got bowled out.

Was the right approach from Marnus and Smith though, get to Tea no more wickets down and take some shine off the ball. England really need early wickets in the final session

Not a bad appeal I reckon.

Starc will need to back up in the second innings. He's the best aus by some margin.

    3/30 Smith out.

Hello fragile middle order. Starting to swing back towards a game...
