@akan004 from that same article; "Personally, yeah, being in 32 hotels and going around the world a few times, but I think what’s required of me every week, how do I set the group up, the management group, the team, we talk about being all in, we talk about serving our jersey on the field and our people off the field, so how can I shape and bring the legacy along with us.
“I feel like I’ve made a real connection to that piece and personally, how can I get those simple messages across to the group? Look, I said before, it’s fine margins, and there’s a lot of expectations that come with it. So how can you refine your messages so the boys are clear and then just go and play and trust themselves.
“I feel like I’ve got a lot better in that regard.”
He's fucking delusional.
Not a pop at Coach Jesus, but am I the only one who hates the use of the word "boys"?
They're not boys, they're grown fucking men.

There's a lot of stuff said by coaches, players and the especially media that comes across as too casual and matey, matey for me.

Watching the opening of Aotearoa Rugby Pod is a joke. Parsons reckons we've been dominant on defence all year until we let it slide vs Wales and England. I guess he didn't watch us vs SA in Wellington, and the stats on The Breakdown.
He's a mouthpiece for the players and is being told what to say by NZ Rugby.

No edge to the organisation from top down.
We have a no dickheads policy.....we actually need a few dickheads in the building and on the pitch.

Nobody needs a dickhead mate. What we need is hard professional people who don't back away from tough decisions.

I used to like the show, but the last two weeks have been nothing short of embarassing. So I'm out

I don't think these days has got much to do with that to be honest bro, tough decisions have forever often been tough precisely because some people won't like them.
Also is an arsehole a dickhead? Not necessarily I reckon. -
@KiwiMurph thats the thing, Parsons has a very analytical eye when it comes to rugby, when he was playing they had him on the radio in a regular spot talking and he was always very insightful, similar to O'Halloran.

Having only listened to a couple of episodes recently, Parsons seems like he's trying to come up with excuses for how poorly the All Blacks are playing. He points to random statistics or moments in the game and tries to make out that's all that's wrong. 'They would've won if it hadn't been for that one little thing there.'

He looks like he's thinking really hard too, so maybe he is trying to find obscure ways to justify how shit we are

We have said the same thing in different ways.
We need more disagreeable people. Not careerists. We need people to not be afraid to challenge the status quo and people who are not just going with the flow.
Graham Souness alluded to Liverpools current demise and he said “I know we are in real trouble because nobody on the pitch is angry, they are not fighting with each other or challenging each other”.We have players who don’t get angry with each other , a coaching team who don’t seem to get angry with the players. Players who don’t get angry with opposition .Players and coaching team who don’t get angry with the lawmakers and a board who doesn’t seem to get angry with the slurry we are being served up.
No passion.
Need to see some one giving or receiving a fucking rark up.

Eh? so the rumours about headbutts and internal arguments aren't true then? As to getting angry with the opposition, rugby has become a house of cards. Getting sneaky, crafty, and ruthless is one thing. Anger, in this era, is another.

Graham Souness
Interesting character.
Recall a story about his first game for Liverpool.
The manager was giving instructions to each player before the game, but said nothing to him.
He than asked what the manger what he wanted him to do.
The manger turned on him, and said something like "You're asking me? We just paid umpteen million dollars for you! You should be telling us what to fucking do!"
The Souness (who had an excellent opinion of himself) said he just thought to himself, OK, Right! And took over the team for the following decade.Always wondered whether the manager planned for that situation.
Just waiting for him to say something, so he could tear into him.
Knowing exactly how Souness would react; just how he wanted him too. -
