Is there a chance that Razor and his team goes before the RWC if we have a poor year?

Not much, noone else would take the job as it would be a no win I suspect.

Makes me wonder who was the last coach if any to win an RWC within 2 years of being appointed...there is of course the tactical surprise/potential advantage of a new kid on the block...

Plus there is always the option of keeping the head coach (the ra ra guy) and getting rid of an assistant coach (the Captain Bligh guy)...

In case this is not a rhetorical question, the current WC winning coach.

Appointed 2017, they won in 2019.

Although if I remember correctly, the talk was razor himself was willing to take over from fozzie if he was sacked with a similar timeframe to the last wc .

Unless I’m remembering that wrong .

Pretty sure you are correct, but he was almost actively courting the job, not sure there is anyone in same position now is kind of what I meant.

Yep , mind you he was already their director of rugby. Not sure we have similar. Wayne Smith is perhaps close, but I will bet he won't take job on.

Jamie Joseph is probably the only one we have that might come close to that , I mean he applied last time and put his hand up to coach the b team , so you would assume he still wants the job .

Yep ,I thought of him (wuld of liked him to get job at start), but somehow think he would not be keen on coming in with Razor's team, and not sure who he would look at for those roles.

He took up the DOR role in December 2017, became coach in February 2018.

He may have been planning since June of that year, but the point stands that people can take over and win.

@MacDazzler Sam Casey also confirmed that it's very unlikely that Ardie Savea would play again under current AB coaches.

    @george33

    Was that on the radio?
That would be a huge huge thing and I think we would definitely see change if true, even though we would have a better more balanced loose forward trio if he left.

If true, who has made that decision?

If it's the coaches, they might not be a lost cause just yet, but if it's Savea, that adds further fuel to the fire about the toxic nature of the current AB setup.

Care to elaborate further on this ? something definitely rotten in camp if this is the case.

Ardie is one of the best players in the world, well, according to TikTok and Instagram anyway.....

yeah...would have a lot of respect if the coaches came out and said they were effectively starting from scratch, players picked on form, everyone had to earn their spots back etc

    these "leaks" make no sense

The guy that, from the outside anyway, looks to be at the heart of our struggles when we have the ball, is not only locked in the jersey, he's actively running the team?
A guy who plays every minute of every test with what appears no accountability for any of the weaknesses in his game won't play for them any more?

    I am many confused.

@MN5 early caller said that he new of four current ABs that wouldn't play under current AB coaches and Ardie was only name mentioned and Sam Casey confirmed he's also been told same thing but didn't name others.

That sems highly unlikely to me given he was picked in basically every team regardless of form and handed captaincy during Scott's injury.

Also the AB Media team fluffing him every possible second.
