NZR CEO Mark Robinson Resigns
-
He led the AB review, for sure.
But the others would have been reviewing the review.
And he promptly resigned on completion.
Says it all . . . oh well . . . the other job pays more anyway.Haha
Normally the job of the CEO to review the review . . . but . . . that's right, we dont have one of those. -

Fuck! He gets a gig with WR.
Former New Zealand Rugby Chief Executive Mark Robinson is to join World Rugby as its new Chief of Rugby. Robinson will join the international federation in May, marking a major step towards delivering the organisation’s new five-year strategy, which places growing rugby’s global appeal firmly at the centre of the sport’s future success.

He was absolutely shit as boss of NZR. Full of waffle and self-importance.
Strategically shit though too. Directly approaching Australian Super franchises to break away from their owners - Aus Rugby? STupid stupid stupid. It was amateur hour.

Chief of Rugby at World Rugby sounds important.

Not sure if this or the right forum for it, but the delay in the CEO search is down to money. Several people have turned down the role, including the Six Nations dude as the salary is nowhere near what those who they have gone after are requesting.
We are never going to be able to compete in terms of money. Makes more sense to find a Kiwi because they are more invested in NZR, someone with a reasonable degree of competence that can work well alongside Kirk and the board

While we are all generally down on Robinson's performance, I assume he did not act in almost all cases without running it past and obtaining approval from the board? If so, they are as culpable as he is. Kirk is still the key. If he can run the board in a relatively professional manner, the board will provide solid support and the CEO does not have to be the smartest and best in the room. They do have to be a people person and be able to connect and search out deals and opportunities
