That little ol' bandwagon was filling up quickly at 3-0, imagine it at 4-0....

    alt text

...and after beating the (alleged) salary-cap cheating Roosters too.

Don't Panic: No James Gavet? No Shaun Johnson? Concede a try in the first two minutes? No worries. The mental toughness of the team right now to ignore the problems and focus on their work is impressive. Most NRL weekends if a team scores quickly, they'll score again and again. The next kickoff the Warriors began pinning the Roosters down on their goalline and were relentless all afternoon, owning 62% of possession.

Coach Green: When he finishes his playing career, Blake Green will move right into head coaching. The bloke understands the game from the tactical side to the psychological. Hearing him speak in the press conference, he talked about how he studied the game after failing in the NRL early in his career. Green outsmarted the Roosters all game long with early kicks and quickly changing the direction of attack. He outplayed Cooper Cronk with ease today.

The real MVP: Blake Green was great but Mason Lino has to be the MVP. Scored a try and was 7/7 with the boot as a fill-in for Shaun Johnson. Good on defence too. He's no where as skilled as Shaun but far more structured.

What about the other guys? The Roosters were outplayed today and boy did it show. Never seen the Roosters looking so bewildered and frustrated during a game. Blake Ferguson and Reece Robinson had shockers on the wings and their expressions were priceless whenever something went wrong (a lot went wrong).

Love the jersey: People need to rob the Warriors equipment manager's car more. Because of a little early morning thieving the Warriors had to play in their alternative kit and it's pretty slick.

checked out last years ladder, took them 9 rounds to win 4 games.
And they only won 7 games in total in 2017.

Have to say Jazz Tevaga has been awesome these last two weeks. He's 88kgs but is playing as a prop/lock off the bench. You'd think he was at least 20kgs bigger with how well he's tackling and carrying.

Warriors have been sold to that US group. Here's hoping they don't fuck up what seems to be a good thing....

He's a player in the old hooker/lock mould. High work rate and aggressive style of play makes him a great option coming off the bench. It also means Luke can stay on the field and focus on the attack while Tevaga does the defensive work.

Both him and Bunty Afoa are two players who can punch above their weight class.

So, after watching the glorious Warriors win on the tv I wandered down with my mate to Brookvale to watch Manly v Raiders - he lives 5 minutes away and is a season ticket holder.

Now, lets set aside for a minute this idiot thought the Warriors game was in NZ otherwise he would have ditched Manly and gone to the SFS.

Anyway, man that was interesting, I thought the northern beaches were quite hoity toity, they call Manly the silvertails, but sheesh the crowd in the members is pretty feral. It's just constant running commentary/abuse of the ref, the Canberra players, the Manly players. I thought a match thread on TSF was parochial but we don't come close to the Manly members. They never see anything wrong with anything Manly do, every knock on is not a knock on, they're never off side, they don't ever deserve a penalty and it's always the opposite for the opposition. And when Manly let in a few tries in the second half they turned on their players worse than NZ turned on John Hart in 1999. I had as much enjoyment from listening to the crowd as I did watching the game although I must admit I went full feral booing BJ Leilua with the rest of the crowd. I really can't stand that guy.

Brookvale reminded me of McLean Park a bit, the main stand and ugly joining end stand look to be like they copied each other.

It took you awhile but you got a Hawkes Bay reference in right there at the end. Well done.

I like to build my stories to reach a peak, TBF, I could have started with "my mate from school in HB" 🙂
