But as a percentage Auckland is much bigger pop than London, Paris, Edinburgh etc. So, in theory, it should work better to have all the games in the biggest stadium in the biggest (by a HUGE margin) pop centre

You need games in smaller centres but don't overdo it

The reasons for a national stadium keep adding up.

          Naming rights look good too.

And it will stop cities building stadiums they need once every few years.

Could Auckland sustain 3-4 home tests per year?

But it probably shows the changing interest of NZ population. The ABs are not the religion they once were.

So ... don't play 2 tests in Wellington in a year?

Any stadium that doesn't sell out should be banned from games for 10 years, absolutely shit to not sell out. Previously it was only that bloody cantabs that would do this

not sold out yet? dont know if this has changed much since yesterday

Quite frankly, that’s shithouse and oh so provincial

We need redbeard here to talk about the costs of the tickets, parking, beers, chips etc to point out where the problem lies. I've just put in and for two adults, two children it's 300 for the end. 500 for the middle.

I guess there will be another hundy spend on that so 400 or 600.

Actually, thats not too bad I suppose.

Perhaps they have to sell at inflated prices knowing they're covering for all the unsold tickets

Walking up to jump on a train is vastly different than having to fly. Could probably add about an hour either side of flight length, not to mention you've still gotta get to and from the airport!

Car or train travel - 2 hours

2 hours flight is about 150 million people!!

Doesn’t matter about the % of the country population.

Twickers only needs to find 0.5% of close surrounding population ti fill it.

                                  Eden park needs about 3%

                                  Caketin about 8%

My maths could be slightly out. I’m no Good Will Hunting (but I do like apples)

Yeah so Eden Park much better than Welly, so simple to drop other locations in these times of financial distress, IMO

Car or train travel - 2 hours

2 hours flight is about 150 million people!!

Doesn’t matter about the % of the country population.

Twickers only needs to find 0.5% of close surrounding population ti fill it.

                                      Eden park needs about 3%

                                      Caketin about 8%

My maths could be slightly out. I’m no Good Will Hunting (but I do like apples)

                                      @DaGrubster Thats exactly it.

@MikeTheSnow, how much do you think Cardiff tickets would be for an Argie game? Given that stadium is about 25% of the local population!

Although, that more of a whole game day experience really. Given that the stadium is perfectly positioned.

Starting around £35-45 then significantly north of that

Although the tickets for Australia in the Autumn and really well priced, starting at £20

The WRU doesn't rely or expect Cardiff to be the customer

People travel to arguably the best and easiest stadium experience in rugby and make a day / weekend of it

Principality Stadium is the best. Twickers a major letdown
