@W32 said in November International, England v Argies: @Catogrande said in November International, England v Argies: @W32 said in November International, England v Argies: This is the same player who accused bongi of calling him naughty names. Such a gentleman https://www.bbc.com/sport/rugby-union/articles/c93wpwwq7pvo Well two things there. The Bongi incident was explained by the Saffers and accepted albeit with some slight feeling of "Hmmm. Really?" Secondly, there is the clash between a current rugby player who has generally behaved extremely well, does not tend to mouth off or whine about injustice, nor become physically aggressive or confrontational outside in the way he plays against a former rugby player that has a history of aggression, some dirty play in the past, constant whining and mouthing off, exaggerating any small thing to get an advantage, perceived or otherwise. Hmmm. Who to believe? Fair enough. Hopefully there is some camera footage to clear Curry…..the argies are asking for it. The bongi thing… ..well I always thought that Curry was a bit precious there. Damn colonials eh. They certainly say that they're asking for it. I don't know whether they have formally requested it though. If it exists. On the Bongi thing, I can understand a non Afrikaans speaker thinking Wit Kant. might be an insult, but the translation is white side so no great issue. I am though reminded of the Douglas Bader story of when he was giving a talk about his WW2 experiences to a girls' school. There were some Fockers in front of me. More Fockers behind me. There were Fockers all over the place. Cue lots of girls giggling. The headmistress then said that Bader should tell the girls that a Focker is a type of German aircraft. Apparently he said yes that is correct. These particular Fockers were Messerschmidts.

@Smuts said in Springboks vs Pumas I: @stodders to be honest, I’m not sure who the coaches see as 1-5. I’m in the minority (at least in my SA rugby chats), but I’d have Faf, daylight, Williams, Reinach and then a long way back van den Berg. Faf is far from a perfect scrummie. But he’s the best ruck rat on earth for my money. A defensive menace who gets better as pressure increases and crucially makes everyone around him better too. It’s probably too soon to tell if Williams has that killer instinct but I reckon we know Reinach doesn’t. Which is fine, so long as the coaches keep Reinach bracketed with a mongrel to deal with clusterfucks like Ellis Park, Eden Park or the RWC semi… I hear you on Faf, but I’m not sure the coaches think he’s the 9 Tonyball needs. I reckon he still has a chance of making the WC squad, if only to have on the bench with Pollard as the “reverse-choke squad”, tasked with coming on to wrestle back control of the game when Tonyball fails against a team that can catch and tackle near 90%, or the Boks run up against their 2027 Bryce Lawrence

@Mr-Fish said in Argentina v England II: @Windows97 said in Argentina v England II: How on earth did this happen? A weakend Argentina team beat the Lions at away and then proceed to lose at home to an England side sans-Lions players... Make it make sense lol Argentina rotated out a lot of their squad for this series. They didn't use a full-strength team. More Latin disrespect.

@Tim Great try. It does show the inexperience of Pollock, though. Curry rushes Albornoz to pressure the kick but because Pollock is lax in following up, Albornoz is able to step inside the gap. I'm sure Andy Farrell will let him know. But fantastic execution by Albornoz nonetheless. One of the best 10s running around nowadays.

@Jet said in Ireland v Argentina: @MiketheSnow said in Ireland v Argentina: @Jet said in Ireland v Argentina: Ref hatcheted Argentina, particularly in the final drive. Repeated green infringements. Im getting sick of how normalised players getting carded is though....Rugby is a bit shit these days isnt it. Im fed up of listening to refs and TMO's talk to each other. Its fucking insufferable. Slowly but surely we’re seeing more and more censure for human ‘Exocet missiles’ entering the ruck with abandon That is a train I can get on board with Always wondered why Exocet became the missile of choice for ruck entry descriptions....seems to be ubiquitous at this stage. Particularly eye brow raising when Argentina are one of the teams under discussion. Mike the Snow playing 4d chess. Because it's a sea skimmer that came into UK, and therefore Anglo speaking rugby, consciousness in 82!

PSdT deservedly MOTM performance. That try looked like a knock, so was freakish. He had a perfect game. Glad Eben got this. Libbok after a week of critics played well.

That was the physical manifestation of me sitting my A Level examinations at the end of my secondary school education Enough natural talent combined with a little bit of work and the questions I spotted coming up to feel good about the performance and the result after 30 minutes, only to see that there is 50 minutes left to the 'test' and with the odd exception of an educated guess I'm an observer for the remainder of the time unable to do anything about it

@pakman said in All Blacks vs Argentina I: @Bones said in All Blacks vs Argentina I: @pakman god that was depressing, couldn't finish it. Fucking funny though at the bit where Razor says what they were doing all last week. The first ten were all exit, so parked rest for when I'm feeling sunnier! Quite a lot of Squidge over-excitement, but we often kicked without sizing up what was in front of us, and a handful of instances where almost entire pack folded one side of ruck leaving other side woefully under-defended. Not sure if a system thing but I'd not noticed that in other games.

@Joans-Town-Jones @nzzp Oh come on, you've both been watching this RWC where I'm yet to see a penalty in a situation where the ball carrier has deliberately led with his head, to the point where we've even heard the ref state exactly that on the fly. Stop getting your knickers in a twist about make believe.
