@pakman said in Scotland v All Blacks: @BerniesCorner I want Parker in 23, and think it makes sense for him to start. Wally is brilliant to come off bench at about 50. Flexibility to end with SSP or SSL depending on how things are panning out. Flexibility seems a bit optimistic. I think I'm right in saying that in the last game we had 2 loosies who had a 10 minute rest, and we left the guy who hadn't had a rest on, and subbed the guy who had just had his rest?

@nzzp Scotland didn't play at Eden Park in 1987. They played one game there in 2011 but they lost that narrowly to England. https://www.bbc.com/sport/rugby-union/15124512.amp

Not sure if Scotland have ever played on a surface like that! The back 3 of Fiji played well but was impressed with some of the forward tactics. Kept it tight despite the temptation to swing it. Too many errors at times but a very good win that I see has shaken the rankings up.

@Steven-Harris said in Māori All Blacks v Scotland: He said to me as the yesterdays game was coming to its conclusion that the game has no flow and the referee and TMO’s are now the stars of the show and the stop start nature kills any momentum with players slow to pack scrums and forming committee meetings before lineouts are set up not to mention players that are going down with injuries miles away from the action and yet the game gets halted Did you tell him to watch Super Rugby as they actively addressed these issues this year?

If the plan is to box kick all bloody day, then pick a 9 that can execute it well but if you pick two running 9s then why play kick the leather off the ball for most of the match? And as you say if you are going to kick then A. Kick well. B. Chase well C. Do not kick to big top class dangerous runners like VDM and Kinghorn with two thirds of your back three being midgets. It's not fucking rocket science, everyone and I do mean EVERYONE can see the issues but not Borthwick and his team. How blind or deluded do you have to be? Karl Dickson would be a better ref if he actually blew the whistle instead of trying to be everyone's mate during and after the hang. I like continuity, but he goes too far

Took me 2 days to get up the courage. TBH it isn't all bad. Besides some shit refereeing, and this stupid short kicking tactic, we're not doing too badly. Physically we're dominant. Mentally we're kittens

I see what @Bones means about Finn Russell. Definitely the fattest skinny first five I’ve seen since Andy Goode retired.

@Billy-Webb said in 6N Scotland v England: @Dodge said in 6N Scotland v England: I am so so sick of us being shit and physically unable to actually play rugby - passing and catching seems to be beyond most of them. Saw a tweet from Healey that summed it up for me, with all the time they’ve spent together why do they play like strangers, why is the timing so off? More simply though, why do they look as though they’re concentrating too hard to remember every action of a specific script rather than see a chance and play for it? These guys were presumably the best players at their school, the best players at their clubs, why can’t they pass and catch?! I get the frustration. I completely empathise with it. Life as a rugby fan eh?! Depends on your timeline, but as a Bok fan I fear England in the next RWC. Given the playing personnel, and importantly the coaching personnel which now includes Felix (bloomin genius) I believe England will be a real force. It will just take a bit of time to move on from Jones and learn new playing structures. Patience... from fans especially, and you may well get rewards. [Disclaimer: I hope I am utterly delusional and England sucks at RWC 2027] :face_with_tongue: Dunno about this. They will always have players, I think they are lacking real leadership. And I don't see the leadership coming through. That RWC winning team was chock full of them. Where is the next Johnson, Wilkinson, Greenwood or Dallaglio? I'm just not seeing it.

@MajorRage said in 6N - Scotland v France: @voodoo said in 6N - Scotland v France: @NTA said in 6N - Scotland v France: Scotland should have won that game twice over in the first half but didn't take advantage of a France looking very Old French without Dupont and Ntamack. Yeah the last decision is going to be talked about, but don't put it in the ref's hands. Christ I hate that line of thinking. The old “the ref didn’t cost us, we should have have put it away earlier”. It makes no sense. They did what they had to do to be in a position to win the game and the TMO screwed them. Both teams made mistakes prior to then, it’s called “sport” No, this is a good point which is on the players. Same point applies to lions 3 in 2017, and from a personal point of view, missing out my marathon time by 23 seconds. Re TMO. His call was correct following protocols. He has to overturn the ref. Evidence wasn’t 100% conclusive. Thanks, but you’re wrong on both counts

@stodders said in RWC Week 5: Ireland v Scotland: @Derm-McCrum In fact, pretty much all the bookies are calling you out on the claim that ireland aren't favourites [image: 1696870120342-b788f53b-7886-44ef-97a2-895a20af8f0a-image.png] Well that's changed. So joint favourites with France now. Hmmm.
